[Sokka started the morning worried. As soon as the memories had come back, he realized just how stupid he'd acted. Feeling more than guilty, despite the fact that he hadn't known better at the time, the young warrior had taken the better part of the day to think things over.]
[By the time he returned to #4 Queen Anne's Row it was evening, just after dark, and he only just managed to see someone standing on the porch. He heard a knock in front of him, and as his heart started racing, he guessed it had to be Suki looking for him.]
[Ascending the stairs, he stopped behind her in the darkness, just out of reach (in case she was furious at him). Sokka left his voice quiet, hoping she would recognize it as his.] I'm here, Suki.
[His presence surprised her some. Right now, Suki wasn't in the right state of mind. She never had to suffer through heart break before, not like this. Her village burning down was the most she had to deal with, but this was different. This was love, something that was still a foreign subject to her.
After taking a breath, Suki turn to face him. Even though she was smiling she looked so sad and depressed.]
Sokka! [She reached out for him, but quickly pulled back, pushing her hair behind her ear. They both knew why she was here, so there was no reason to beat around the bush right now.] I just- I'm sorry.
[Yeah, she was, but she also wanted to hear Sokka say the same thing. She wanted to know that he felt awful too, even though his expression and this distance between them was proof enough.]
[Sokka had a hard time meeting her eyes. He dipped his head. What could he say? Sorry wasn't really enough, and explaining himself wasn't going to give him any better results.] I think that's a good idea.
[He wanted to be aloof -- to keep his distance and to be angry, but he wasn't any of those things. Sokka was tired and sad and feeling a little sick to his stomach. As he went to pass Suki, he pressed his hand to her back and reached past her to open the door.] How- ah... It's-- it's good to see you.
[His touch felt so nice, and she couldn't even hide her smile. She even inched closer to him, missing his body beside her's.
Once they were inside Suki didn't turn to face him. She just stood there, next to him, lips pressed together in a shy smile.]
I've missed you. [Finally, Suki looked over to him. But right now wasn't a time to just chat. She came here for a reason, and she wasn't one to just beat around the bush. Something was bothering her and she wanted to work it out and whatever happens, happens. She just didn't want this weight on her shoulders, this guilt holding her down.] And I'm sorry, about last week. You know I wasn't in the right mind. I would never walk out on you like that. I was just... confused.

Maybe we should go inside and talk.
