It had gotten to the point that Hermione was fairly certain she was using Harry and Ron's wands more than they did. At the moment, she was using Ron's, not wanting Harry to wander about the house looking for her and stumbling across his room too early. Keeping him out of there was enough work as it was.

For now, she managed to use the wand to pour water into the three mixed cups she'd found, carrying them out into the living room, since she knew Ron was there. "Hopefully not too much," she said, giving him the first cup. "At this point, most of the shared quarters are done; all that remains are our respective bedrooms."

Holding up the other cup, she called, "Harry, take a break and get a drink of water! I don't want to find you sprawled on the steps from heat exhaustion!"

The first person who compared her to Mrs. Weasley was going to have hell to pay.

Oh, Ron thought Hermione was acting like his mum, but he knew enough to keep his mouth shut and snicker when she wasn't near him enough to smack him. Which he did quite often today. When she came out though he grinned at her in thanks before taking the cup. "Brilliant," he responded, gulping some of it down immediately, "we'll fix yours up tomorrow, Hermione."

Snorting into his water as she called Harry in, he kept his attention on it before watching as his best mate came out from wherever he was hiding at the moment. Downing the rest of the cup quickly he smirked slightly.

"Drink it, anyway, we could all use a break," Ron said needlessly with a shrug, "and maybe a cooling charm or two. Who'd have thought this would take so long with magic."

Reaffirming her grasp on her own cup once the others had gone off to each of the boys, Hermione took a small sip of water as she moved to sit down besides Ron. She didn't sit too close to him, though; the last thing she wanted was to make Harry feel uncomfortable... or to give him any incentive to make her feel uncomfortable.

"Cooling charms; brilliant," Hermione complimented. "Thank you for volunteering, Ron." Normally, she'd do it herself, but as she was currently sans wand, that left it to one of the others for now.

Ron resisted the impulsive urge to wrap an arm around Hermione as she sat next to him for, while he was not as worried about making Harry uncomfortable, he knew Hermione. Besides, what she said quickly got him. "What?" Ron sputtered sitting more upright, sending her a look of shock. "Oh, come on, Hermione! Why's it got to be me? You're the one with my wand!" Which was true since, after all, she'd had it for the water. Obviously, she was just trying to make him do work.

Ears tinged slightly he shot Harry a glare. "Shut up, Harry," he muttered before taking his wand from Hermione.

Frowning slightly, he muttered the incantation under his breath, feeling the air around them cool before doing it once more and tossing the wand on the seat next to him.

Unable to resist chuckling at Harry's agreement and at Ron's reaction, Hermione grinned and dryly replied, "Well, I was going to give it back to you, Ron. You needn't get so huffy about it, at least not unless you'd just been dying for a spot of work."

Glad that he'd taken the initiative, Hermione scooted closer to him when he was done and plucked the wand from his hand, though really, it may well have simply been an excuse to move closer to him. "I'll regulate it, if you're really so against a simple charm. Unless Harry would like to do the honors?"

Turning ever slightly more red at the two of theirs chuckling, Ron tried to pass it off. "Course I wasn't," he mumbled, bitingly, trying to keep the infectious laughter back.

Snorting at Hermione's comment he cast a look between the two. Letting Hermione take his wand he spoke up. "You're joking, right? Harry's just as ruddy as I am when it comes to that," he said rather cheekily, "that's the only reason he doesn't want to, innit that right, Harry?"

Trying not to appear sheepish about it as Hermione scooted closer to him, he wrapped an arm around her, shooting Harry a glare to dare him to say something. It wasn't as if he hadn't done the same gesture before in front of him-- then again she had been crying then. Different story, but still!

"So what are we going to do about outside? Anything? Aside from fixing the windows and such, I mean."

Hermione would have been all too happy to tell Harry that it wasn't an excuse; she really did need to get Ron's wand. And if he wanted to think otherwise, he could ride a Muggle broom off the side of a cliff.

A bit surprised when Ron put his arm around her, Hermione smiled up at him, that smile growing just a bit wider when she saw the death glare he shot off in Harry's direction. Oh, this was certainly going to be a pleasant living arrangement.

"I don't really think any gardening or such would hold," she mused. "If we're not being flooded, there's sure to be a thousand other things that could crop up and ruin whatever we leave outdoors, regardless of whatever protection charm we put on them."
