IT'S PARTY TIME. =D

Summary: It's Kushina's birthday, and Naruto's throwing a WILD PARTY-- or, you know just inviting 'some people' over for 'food n stuff'

Another party. Another celebration of good things. This city needed more of these events, rather than the horrible things that seemed to happen so often. Juliet arrived nearer to a dinner hour than to when the party began, but with such parties, the hour of arrival did not seem as set in stone as with others. It had certainly not been an issue at Bubbles' party. She carried with her an embroidered shawl as a present, and a small basket of those cans of fruit. It was not much food to contribute, but it was something. If only she knew where more of the fresh fruit grew, she would bring that.

"Naruto!" She smiled when she spotted her friend, and hurried toward him.

He grinned when Juliet arrived, leaning up to look into the basket - clearly looking a little disappointed about something. Still, he wears a grin, and gives her a thumbs up.

"Hi Juli-chan! It's real good to see you, dattebayo!"

She catches that look of disappointment. "I wish I could have found us fresh fruit. I looked and looked, but most of the places I knew of have been washed away from the floods."

She reaches out with her free hand to take his or wrap it around him in a light hug, whichever he'll allow. "It is good to see you as well."

His cheeks flushed and he took a step back, shaking his hands either side of his shoulder. "No, nonono! The flood, uh-- yeah it was bad, it ain't your fault... You brought stuff though that's good and--"

He let her hug him, stepping toward it actually... Adstring had made him a little more tolerant of hugs and physical contact-- "Ah-- Yeah."

She smiled, both at his reaction to her offering, and to the hug. "I only wish there were flour, that we could take this and make a pie of some sort. But I've seen no wheat anywhere." Breads and pies were one of the things she missed most from home.

Once she released him from the hug, she looked around. "And where is the guest of honor, your lady mother?"

Any thoughts about hugging her were lost in the haze of conversation, and he pulled a face at the thought of pie-- "Yeah? You can make that stuff? I never made it before-- uh, not that... I mean, what's a pie?"

Even food doesn't hold his attention for very long today though apparently. "OH! Mum? She's around here somewhere, we could go find her, dattebayo."

"What is a pie?" She frowned a moment, wondering how someone who enjoyed food so much did not know of such things, and wondering how best to explain it. Before she could begin, however, his attention turned.

"I have brought her a present. I hope she will find it pleasing." She patted the shawl, which was folded carefully and tucked in the crook of her arm.

"Uh yeah." There was nothing else to say about it though, his eyes widened slightly when he heard that she'd brought his Mum something for her birthday, and he grinned, gently reaching out to take her by the wrist and tug, just enough to encourage movement.

"I dunno where she is right now, dattebayo-- but we can find her!"

She let him pull her along, grinning. He was a most dutiful son, to be so devoted to his mother's well-being and happiness as he was.

"Lead the way, Naruto. I am most eager to meet her."
