Remus had just closed the door to his room, intent on getting ready for bed after having quickly made sure everything in the flat was as it should be. Sirius and the kids were safe and the front door was secure, along with the charms. So when he sat on his bed to take off his shoes and noticed a silvery form outside his window out of the corner of his eye, he immediately brought his wand up and pointed it at the window, only to see-

...Tonks' patronus?

His eyes widened and he quickly crossed to the window, opening it so the wolf could come in if it wanted.

The silvery wolf crossed through the window, half gliding and half-sprinting. Once inside, the patronus sat back on its haunches. It opened its mouth to speak.

"Remus! Where are you? For that matter, where the bloody hell am I?"

Hearing it speak, hearing her voice, made Remus nearly gasp. Tonks was here. She had to be! Crouching down in front of the patronus, he looked it in the "face" and spoke, his voice shaking with a mixture of nervousnes and excitement.

"Take me to her."

The patronus stood. It turned around and exited through the opened window so that it could head back to Tonks. Every so often it would pause to make sure that Remus was keeping up.

Meanwhile, Tonks herself had not left her arrival area. She was in a strange place without a clue. Until she had more information, she felt it best to not wander. Tonks kept her wand close but had moved to a less conspicuous position away from the street. It gave her time to play with her PCD.

When she caught sight of something silvery in the distance, Tonks stood. Had her patronus found someone? Not being sure if there was a friend or foe behind the Patronus, Tonks gripped her wand and waited.

Hawke managed to be right in the same place as Tonks arrived. The whole thing startled him as he dropped down into a squat, his obsidian knife already pressed against his forearm in readiness. He'd never seen someone arrive on Adstring, and never heard of anyone else witnessing it, either.

He never bothered to hide himself as she seemed to not notice him, which was new, considering a man with no shirt and a long skirt for lower wear wasn't hard to conceal. Certain that she was focused on her own task, he watched in amazement as a silvery wolf appeared from her stick and streak away.

"What magic is this?" he asked quietly, the knife still against his arm.

Tonks whirled around, her wand out and at the ready. She did not like that she had been observed casting a patronus charm. Had she seen anyone, she would've been more discreet.

It was fortunate for him that she was not as paranoid as some. She might've stunned him or worse all in the name of constant vigilance. "Who are you?"

Hawke learned a long time ago from Draco that a wand pointed in his direction was a reason for caution. The black stone blade bit into his skin more deeply and red started to pool around it, taking on a path that looked more like a slowly growing stripe pattern on his arm. It remained on his forearm, defying gravity as he watched her, ready to take action should she move at all.

"I am called Hawke. Do not hold fear-I do not wish to harm you."

Tonks smiled apologetically. "Well, that's great because I don't really want to harm you either." She did not, however, lower her wand. "I'm Tonks and again, I'm really very sorry but if you don't mind, I'm expecting someone."
