The minute his hand comes in contact with the goggles, Naruto gets pulled into a memory.

The memory takes place at the training field. Naruto, Sakura and Sai are shown training together as Yamato watches over them and coaches them from the sidelines. It's clear to see that this is from when Yamato became the temporary captain of their team.

It's near the end of their training session and after a few more minutes of training, Yamato calls them off and he decides that they're done for the day.

"All that training really worked up my appetite!" Naruto said enthusiastically. "How 'bout we all head over to Ichiraku for some ramen?"

"I'm sorry Naruto-kun," Yamato says regretfully. "I'm afraid I have to turn in a mission report right after this. Perhaps another time."

"I must also decline, Naruto-kun," Sai says with one of his usual fake smiles. "I also have a few prior engagements that I must attend to."

"Oh...okay," Naruto clearly looks disappointed at being turned down by two of his new teammates. "What about you, Sakura-chan? Are you busy too?"

"Actually, I don't have anything going on right now. So I guess I can go with you," Sakura says with a small smile. "But you better believe you're paying!"

"Alright! Sounds great, Sakura-chan~!"

The memory fades as they all walk away from the field.

It's weird to see yourself outside of yourself. Still holding the goggles, although now - loosely hooked in his hand and hanging at his sides, he watches.

For a moment he feels the same sadness he felt the first time round. Sai and Yamato clearly have more important things to do...

and yet.

There's a grin as Sakura decides to go with him, and Naruto punches the air in victory. the disorientation doesn't seem to bother him too much, even as the memory fades.

Carefully, he lifts the goggles up in front of his face again, grinning widely. "Heh. Sakura-chan." He smiles, looking over at the other things. His lips press together at the sight of them. He recognises them all. Carefully, he wanders over to the uchiha fan, collecting it up in his hand.

"It's Sasuke's..."
