I liked your intro! saintedsinner February 7 2011, 12:20:58 UTC
Edward was there before dawn, waiting by leaning up against a rock. He knew exactly where they would meet, and it made him smirk watching Arthur arrive, looking vaguely lost.

Sure, he was short, but if that made Arthur underestimate his abilities, he was going to take it and run as fast as he could. The guy looked okay with a sword; he knew people who were far faster with slimmer blade than that thing. Arthur's sword looked like it was meant for bludgeoning.

"Glad you could find the place." He looked up with a smirk. It was still a little chilly, but he was more than ready to just spar with a long sleeved shirt on. For now he kept his coat. "Did you want to warm up?" When he asked that, it was with a snarky grin.

Good! I wrote it half-dead, ffft kingoftheround February 7 2011, 17:45:51 UTC
"No need." He paused, glancing Edward over. It was the first time he'd seen him face to face. "Even smaller than I thought you were."

He knew not to underestimate his opponents, even if they looked like little boys, but he couldn't help but be amused by Ed's height. Moreso than that, the reaction he seemed to extract from him when he teased about it.

Ed growled slightly, shedding his coat. Fine, if Arthur wanted to taunt him, he could do so. "I've felled bigger blow hards than you. And you know what they say, the bigger they are the harder they--"

If Arthur didn't want to warm up, it was his lost. Ed was quick, darting forward and then then shifting direction as if to pass the other man's right, his leg already out to sweep him off his feet.

"FALL!"

[A trick to fight scenes! React to the first person, and make certain they have something to react against, too.]

Yush! And sorry, was Buffy marathoning with a friend. kingoftheround February 7 2011, 23:43:08 UTC
Arthur managed to dodge, if only just barely, taking a quick stride back. Ed really was quick--he had a feeling it was going to be agility over power, for him.

"You'll have to try a little harder than that!" He chuckled, kicking out a food at Edward's chest, still close enough to hit.

Is fine! saintedsinner February 8 2011, 00:04:00 UTC
Edward took the hit with barely an 'oof!' and then took hold of Arthur's leg. He grinned, giving it a yank to twist his leg and upsurp the other blond. "How's that?"

Pulling his leg back hard, he did his best to keep his balance as a fist flew down at Edward's head. "Not good enough!"

This guy might actually prove to be a decent opponent! Ed's right arm went up to block Arthur's fist, the automail proving to be an effective shield. His left fist shot out quickly to Arthur's solar plexus in order to knock the wind out of him.

....That wasn't flesh and bone his fist just struck. His surprise caused him to fall victim to Edward's punch, and he grunted as he tried to catch his breath. Freeing his leg, he took a step back.

"Wearing a gauntlet? This is supposed to be unarmed combat."

"It's not a gauntlet." Seeing his opening, Ed pushed forward with a one-two punch and then dropping down to sweep Arthur's feet from under him in a second attempt. "It's my arm."

"Arms aren't made out of metal." Again he dodged, but again only just barely. His own leg kicked out and up, attempting to trip Edward himself with his outstretched leg.

"It's automail." Luckily, Arthur's leg connected with Ed's left, also metal. He didn't feel the jar as much while he took the hit, still pushing forward with fists and feet. "It's metal."

"Not exactly very fair, is that?" Since when could limbs be made from metal? Arthur hissed, realizing he was more on the defensive so far--his own punches and kicks towards Edward became more aggressive, making sure now not to focus on his automail.

"It's perfectly fair! I didn't ask to lose my arm and leg." Ed had no issue continuing the attack, using his automail limbs more as shields than offensive maneuvers. "If I didn't get this from my best friend, I wouldn't have a leg to stand on!"

"Pun intended or not?" He did his best to get in through Ed's defenses, trying to take any open spot he could.

"Intended." Of course, hauling around this extra weight meant that his stamina could slip. Arthur definitely got a punch or two in, but Ed refused to back down. He's been in life or death fights before.

As had he. Ed was a little more persistent than he had expected, but Arthur was never one to give up. He wasn't Camelot's best warrior for no reason, after all.
