Regardless of warnings

Characters: Hino Rei [marsfireignite and Ulquiorra Cifer [foundtheheart]
When: After this conversation.
Where: The Wastelands.
Rating: PG-13 at the most.
Summary: Inoue Orihime has vanished and Ulquiorra is suffering. Rei's solution? A quick spar to release frustration and a talk afterwards to try and help him heal.

There had been so many disappearances recently and Rei was, quite frankly, tired of it. It unnerved her, the idea that the Animus could just snatch people away in their sleep... it caused so much pain and suffering and so many people were left in the wake of the absence wondering what to do next.

Kino Makoto's absence was a daily painful reminder to the senshi that any of them could be next. Riku had been next, vanishing without a word, the only clue his PCD clicking offline. Terra Branford would never look at Rei with recognition again. One by one, her alliances were being picked off, and she did not appreciate it.

It was why, when Orihime had been next, that Rei was in control, oddly neutral, apathetic, even. She would feel anger, sadness, sorrow later, when she was better. But for the time being, Ulquiorra Cifer needed the distraction far more than she did, and if they were planning on advancing towards their infiltration to the Inner City, both of them needed to be at the top of their mental game.

So she sat on a rock, her fingers wrapped around her transformation wand, eyes forward, waiting for the appearance of the Arrancar. He needed to be helped. This was the best way Rei knew how.
