Guardian angels aren't worth notice

Summary: Madara killed Orihime. Now Ulquiorra wants to kill Madara. It doesn't work out for either of them.
Ulquiorra had spent the time since Orihime's death trying to marshal his emotions, but had had little success. He wondered if this was what Kurosaki Ichigo had felt when he'd learned of her abduction, more than a year ago. Back then, he couldn't have understood, but time and certain people had changed the former Espada. Emotions Hollows weren't meant to feel had forced him to question himself...and now brought him to a conflict meant only to avenge. What was the point? There was none, that he could find. So why was he here? Perhaps confronting the murderer of the first person he'd truly cared about would help ease the swirl of emotion within the heart he shouldn't have.
He hadn't released-yet. He'd arrived first and perched on the broken wall of a derelict building, waiting until his enemy-or was prey actually a suitable word here?-came into the range of his Pesquisa rather than expend reiatsu waiting for an unspecified amount of time. But his Zanpakutou was drawn, blade held in the shade of the wall to prevent reflecting light from giving away his location early. He didn't know precisely how powerful this man was, but he would take no chances and had no code of honor preventing him from attacking an unaware opponent.
