It was the worst possible scenario; something Negi would never want for himself, would never allow -- but Kotarou beat his imagination brutally down, not allowing himself to think of what would happen if they couldn't control him.
Negi was smart, wickedly so, and that intelligence was more devious than anything his gentle heart would let him be. Negi's strength lay not in his power, but in the ingenious ways he applied that power. He had beaten opponents much stronger than himself with ingenuity, not strength -- but now with the strength to back it...
The combination was deadly. Kotarou could only hope that Negi would rely on the increased strength more, and leave them an opening. Just one.
That was all he needed.
Kotarou's hand thrust into his inner jacket pocket, pulling out his Pactio card. It was finally coming in handy.
"Ēvocem Tē!, ( ... )

So, when he was forcibly teleported to another place, appearing behind Kotarou and facing his back... there was only one thought in his mind. Instantly, he was on the attack, leaping at him and covering the short distance in one swift motion. His hair and tail trailed behind him, lips parted in a snarl, fangs bared, claws out and ready to slash.

Either it would force him to turn up the speed, or reveal what else he was capable of.

But, there was a latent thought stirring around in the back of Negi's mind. A flash of memory; vaguely, part of him remembered fighting this boy, even though he couldn't recognize who he was. And vaguely, he remembered that lightning had been this boy's downfall.
In mid-leap, Negi's form changed, brilliant white and lavender instead of black and rippling, crackling with electricity. And he'd be right behind Kotarou in an instant, faster than shundo, fist going for the kidneys.

True enough, he did not really know him, but he couldn't let people get hurt, or even let Negi himself get hurt so long as he could help in anyway. Either physically holding Negi back, stalling, or even creating a diversion enough so that he could make sure other people got to safety.
It was sort of laughable really, going up against something he had no clue how to beat, how to fight, or anything else. And yet, he found himself doing it, found himself helping because it was the right thing to do.
So the Shaman was running around, trying to find heads or tails of any destruction the boy might cause, to follow it hopefully to the said boy.
"Lets go."

But he could feel something coming, something powerful, something not human... This alone attracted his interest, not the smell of the human with it. He would deal with that if the human tried to get in his way. He leapt down from the top of a building he had stopped on, landing on the pavement in front of the intruders, cracking the asphalt beneath his clawed feet.

"Negi-san!" He was here now, in front of the.. Well, once boy turned what looked to be a demon. And said demon was eyeing the Spirit of Earth, not him. It meant that he could use his spirit to distract him easier. He had the spirit over-souled, its movements following with Yoh's, so that the Spirit was ready to fight as well, both waiting for whatever Negi was going to throw at them.

In a flash, Negi leapt toward the large spirit, charging up a spell in his palm and firing it off without a single word. It wasn't lightning like the boy normally used, nor was it wind, or darkness. It was a combination of the first two, a swirling, raging thunderstorm concentrated into one shot, aimed right at the spirit.

He wasn't going to thank Kotarou for listening. You didn't thank a friend for being a friend. But he would do whatever was humanly possible for him to take Negi down without killing him. He knew what it was like, after all, trying to save your best friend from himself. And he knew what it was like to fail.

So, when Killua ran past Negi - who was ducking down in the shadows, blending in by using the darkness that swirled around him - he didn't hesitate. He leapt out at the other boy, claws set in front of him, ready to slash.

He instantly caught the tense change in the surrounding atmosphere and whirled around, one arm held up to block against those dangerous claws and the other sending a 50kg yoyo careening toward the left side of Negi's ribcage.

Oh, Killua. You've only just made him even more angry. In retaliation and without so much as a word, Negi shot behind Killua, claws aimed to pierce right at the middle of his back.

The images the Animus had forced into her head -- of watching her fellow senshi die in front of her, watching Sailor Moon sob hysterically as Mars was taken away to... to where, exactly? Darkness, she supposed. Cold, everlasting darkness. -- were having their effect on the senshi's judgement. Rushing into a conflict without any idea of what you were facing? It was a stupid mistake. An amateur mistake.
But a necessary one.
She raced along the streets, PCD clenched firmly in hand, her teeth gritted together as she tracked Negi's energy signature. That demonic power was ridiculously strong and with every step, Mars felt like it was beginning to overcome her. She knew Sailor Moon was behind her, somewhere, but she didn't take the time to wait. She had told Negi everyone was going to be safe this week. It was time to stick to her promise.

This was not good.
She immediately spun on her heel to look up, teeth gritted together, her PCD gripped firmly in her hand. She would not show fear, not one iota of it... but her heart was racing.
"Aizen?" she whispered, stumbling backwards only a step or two, in order to gauge the... creature before her. He was unrecognizable from the man Mars had watched from afar, but she knew. She just knew.

"Was it my voice?" There was no need to hurry. He took some pleasure in the act of restraint, delaying the inevitable like a cat who'd caught a fluttering bird. "Or - could you sense my power, even before?"
He glided toward her, fast enough to corner her, but not so instantly. His hand, grasping the unsheathed Kyouka Suigetsu, was casually extended. "You are stronger than I recall."

When she finally saw him, she paled. She may have been a wizard, but Alex had never seen anything as out of control as this. But as afraid as she was, the thought of running hadn't crossed Alex's mind. Ok, well, maybe it did. A little. Okay, a lot. But Alex had grown to like Negi. He was always nice to her, and he seemed to have a pretty decent head on his shoulders for a little kid.
Steeling her grip on her wand, Alex stood at a safe distance.
"Negi! You have to stop this!" she shouted, hoping it might work but knowing deep down that it would be of no use.

He waited, seeing as the person seemed to be coming to him. He wouldn't need to chase. As Alex approached, standing in an admirably courageous fashion, he tilted his head, much like an inquisitive puppy.
But once she did nothing, he made his first move. In a flash, he was in front of her, arm shooting up to slash those dragon-like claws at her shoulder.

Of course, we're talking Alex, here. Her vanity took over for a split second as she raised her wand. Wouldn't want any nasty scars hanging around, now would we?
"Mcreary Timereary!" she shouted, hoping to reverse those past few seconds. Maybe if it worked, she'd be able to anticipate his movement a little better.
