Ed could not wait to start this adventure! It was a perfect day to go rainbow hunting. The clouds were dark and gloomy and there was a dampness in the air, but Edward didn't care one whit of that as he pulled on his boots. He had to stop and admire the handiwork his mechanic did on his automail. It was all shiny and new and nothing squeaked or creaked or stuttered when he moved the joints. Sure, it hurt a little bit to have his new limbs installed, but it was worth it in order to be able to walk and do things for himself again. In fact, the agonizing pain of nerve feedback was nothing but a distant memory today, even though he'd just gotten his limbs back yesterday. Odd. He should still be feeling the after effects.
Well. No matter, because today was a brand new day and he was going to make the most of it! There was only today, and there would never be any other day like today, and for one, Edward Elric, he was going to seize it with both hands and hang on tight!
He really needed to do something nice for Winry. Ed whistled as he pondered what to do as he laced up his boots. She really outdid herself this time. Tying the laces was a breeze with his new automail. Oh! And he couldn't forget Al and Mom. They needed something new and shiny too! Maybe if he found a rainbow, he'd give them his share of the treasure. Yes, that would work splendidly. And then there was Negi. The poor kid has had a really rough time, lately, and could use a dose of cheering up. Candy it is!
Ed headed out to the coordinates where he'd meet up with Zuko. The scene was practically comical as Ed carried a large knapsack loaded with treats and picnic-y items and a large, transmuted butterfly net. Because who ever said you could catch a rainbow without one? Hur. Yes, a butterfly net was in order for this trip!
