Characters: Adelle DeWitt, Topher and Bennet
When: Shortly after her arrival
Where: Southwest Quarter, around some ruined apartments
Rating: PG
Summary: Some ghosts from her past are coming to show Adelle around. She angsts silently.
After the electronic device clicked off, Adelle took the time while she was waiting to compose herself. She was going to see Topher in just a few minutes, and she'd barely even had time to come to terms with him dying. Not to mention that by the sound of his voice, he appeared to be quite in his right mind. Or at least as close as Topher ever came.
It was really quite a lot to cope with. But that was what she was best at, wasn't it? Stiff upper lip. Although it was considerably easier with a stiff drink--perhaps she could find something here. At this point, she'd even settle for American beer.
She heard footsteps, and she arranged her face into a calm, welcoming smile. Her 'meeting a client' face, what an irony. Oh well, life did like to throw such things at you. There wasn't much you could do except make do.
