There was a war going on between a heavily laden heart and a wise mind. Hashirama was torn, he felt betrayed. Had he been such a fool to think that the Uchiha could change? Had the past months been nothing? Had everything they spoken about, the promises given, the handshakes made, been in vain? He leaped upward towards the rooftops as he tried to catch up with Madara ( ... )

Madara heard Hashirama's voice some distance behind him, but he gave it no notice. Of course the young Hokage would chase after him. Madara knew this would only end in a fight and this fight would only be completed with someone's death.

He would make it Hashirama's death. He was not going to die at the Senju's hands again.

The two had barely made it to the Wastelands when the earth wall had risen, blocking any exit that Madara had. The Uchiha stopped in his tracks and simply stood there, wild hair blowing behind him in the slight breeze.

It seemed that history would indeed be repeating itself today.

"A coward, you say?" Madara said slowly as he turned to face his foe. "Well then...I will stop running. Let's settle this once and for all, Hashirama. Destiny has pitted us together yet again. And if that's what she wants..."

Madara pulled his war fan off of his back and readied it for battle. Just like last time.

"Let's not disappoint her."

The Senju came to a halt not too far away from Madara as he stood up proudly. His light-brown eyes glared into crimson ones as he stood proudly. His own long hair danced with the wind as an ominous silence fell upon the soon-to-be battlefield. The nostalgia was rising along with the dust.

"I should have known your pity and good will was only a farce, Uchiha." He undid the latch of his scroll. "I offered you my trust and a second chance. I should have known you were nothing but a worthless madman."

His scroll fell to his side as he waited. Madara always had the first swing, after all.

"A "madman", eh? I'll show you just how mad I am."

Madara tightened his grip on the fan before his body seemed to twist in on itself and disappear from sight. A second later, Madara appeared in the same twisted manner a foot or so in front of the Senju, an almost insane looking smile on his face. His eyes, though, spoke of madness.

"Now you die, Hashirama!"

He lifted the large fan in the air as he ran to close the small distance between the two founders. In one large arc, he brought the fan down, aiming to crush the Senju's head.
