Evil Hour~ Come join oh villains dreams_are_mine December 23 2009, 05:36:36 UTC
Rhode had been in the red ballroom, sitting on the side and watching the dancing while eating cake, when an invitation fell into her lap. It was addressed to her in fancy cursive script. When she turned it over there was a red wax seal she didn't recognize, but when she broke the seal with her nails she'd been showered in glitter and found herself in the blue room, ice and cold surrounded her as she glanced back down at the note.

"Dear Bad Guy/Gal/Robot/Other,

You are cordially invited to attend a special hour with those of like mind and inclination. We do hope you take advantage and socialize with your fellow ne'er-do-wells. This message will self destruct in five seconds.

With love,
Us

P.S. Try the margaritas!"

True to its ink, the note vanished in a puff of sparkles, leaving Rhode left alone to look around and try to spot her 'fellow ne'er-do-wells'.

Carmen had been mid-dance when the invitation arrived for her. Intrigued, she steped away to the wall before opening it. The burst of sparkles was just as unexpected as the transport, but at least they provided a visual cue as to who had been selected. The robot option had her very intrigued, she had to say.

There. The girl she'd spoken with the first day also had sparkles on her. Intriguing. Carmen crossed the room promptly. There was no reason to wonder, not with such an obvious sign. "Rhode, I believe it was?"

Rhode dusted sparkles off her gloves and looked up at the woman approaching her. Sparkles in her hair. She laughed. So Carmen was one. Or the notes were bogus and choosing people at random. Either way it would be fun. Had Carmen's note been the same as hers?

"Miss Carmen~ You're sparkling." She tapped a finger to her lips. "I wonder what that means, hmm?"

Now amusement reached her eyes. This could prove more fun than an elegant dance. There was no one quite in hearing range, which made the game slightly safer.

"I am. It could simply mean I was handling ornaments. The rooms are very festive indeed." She'd noticed the child's intelligence before, and independence. Carmen was not dealing with a novice, no matter how young Rhode was. "Or it could simply refer to a slightly different worldview. One with more... possibilities."

Rhode stepped closer all the same, despite their isolation. She was used to parties, noise level, and what volumn was relatively safe to talk in. Her voice dropped a little and she tilted her head at the woman.

"I like possibilities. It's terrible to limit yourself. What kind of possibilities do you like~?♥"

She studied the girl for a moment, noting the movement. There was less risk for Carmen than there was for Rhode - the city already knew her as being on the darker side of the spectrum.

"I enjoy possibilities that are not limited by such flimsy things as laws, that are not available to those who have limited their own imaginations. Possibilities that take time and work and that hold their rewards."

It wasn't that Rhode needed to keep her true nature secret. She was ridiculously able to take care of herself. But she liked it. She liked being trusted and seen as just another little girl--doted on and watched over and catered to. It was nice. It made her realize Tyki's affection for keeping his human side of life separate from his life as a Noah clan member--they were both a lot of fun. But in the end she'd claim being a Noah over any humanity without a second thought--it was just a matter of when.

"What kind of possibilities are like that in a place like this, Miss Sandiego~? It doesn't seem like there's much at all to reach for, in this place."

In her world Carmen had never bothered hiding. She enjoyed her fame. It made things a pleasant challenge instead of simple. Here, though, she needed to work at a more subtle level. This was people instead of countries.

"There is always power to be had in any place, Rhode. And always the means to wield it, if opportunity is found."

Rhode was used to living a double life. One of the prime minister's daughter, the other as the eldest of the Noah clan, a sadist and a mass murderer, bent on genocide--no, on world destruction. It was easier at home though, with so many people and so many countries, and her doors that let her travel anywhere instantly--this place she still had all her confidence, but she was far from stupid. She'd be exposed eventually, because she hated humans too much to keep her nature concealed forever, and when she was she'd be ready, but she didn't need to give the game up right away. She loved games after all.

"Have you found it, Miss Sandiego? The power and the means? Or just the opportunity?"

The game was what made life interesting. Taunting, pursuit, and then her pursuers' eventual failure. But she did not play to destroy. She played to teach. Too many were caught in the delusion of right and good, trapped. She could free them and use them, both at the same time.

"It is an active pursuit, and there is much to be enjoyed in it. And what are you seeking, Rhode?"

Lee HAD been in the Green rooms, those damned doors had seemed intent to get him back in there, when he had received the little letter. He had been about to dismiss it, but it said his real name on it, so he had opened it and be... taken to the blue room. At least it was better than the horrid pink and gold room.

After reading the note and letting it disappear, he glanced around for his fellow evil villains. Honestly, it made him sound like a character in a play. His eyes landed on a little girl... evil villain? Well, he wasn't going to put things past anything, look at Pride after all. Bastard boy.

He watched her for a bit, did he just go up to her and ask 'hey, did you get a sparkly note too?' or what?

Rhode was looking around for others coated in the tell-tale glitter. She glanced past Lee twice in her scan before her eyes settled on him a third time, and she watched him with calm curiousity as he watched her back. After a moment or two of silent staring, she approached him, gloved hands folded demurely in front of her as she stopped before him and tilted her head, the soul of innocence and charm.

"You're sparkling, mister." she commented, smiling and raising a finger to her lips.

If Rhode was the picture of innocence and charm, Lee was the picture of good nature and openness, glancing at himself when she said he was sparkling and chuckling, great, brushing at the sparkles, grinning lightly.

"It would seem that I am, Little Miss." His voice was amused, even more so to her finger to lips motion. "I wonder what it means." He grinned to her, friendly but on his guard.

Rhode brushed a few sparkles off her gloves and laughed at Lee's amiable reply. "Maybe it means we're supposed to dance?" She suggested lightly, offering him one of her hands.

"I'm Rhode Kamelot~" She sing-songed her name, watching Lee while she did. But other than the playfulness, unusual confidence for a girl her age, and sparkles adorning her, she hardly seemed any more of a candidate for evil-doing than Lee appeared.

Lee laughed as Rhode laughed and said it was meant for dancing, taking her hand like a gentleman, "Then that's exactly what we'll do."

He grinned as she told him her name, leading her gently out to the floor for a dance, but not before giving the back of her hand a little kiss in greeting. "Lee Wolfgang, Miss Kamelot. It's a pleasure to meet you." Normally, he would have given her his real name, but there'd be no telling who'd overhear it.
