Through some miracle- after the rather disturbing spectacle in the morning- Neji had successfully managed to keep his hair free of unusual substances throughout the rest of the day. But the two on one spar with his teammates had been a workout that his body had enjoyed, able to engage in familiar fighting styles, plotting counter-attacks while narrowly out-maneuvering Lee and avoiding Tenten’s new arsenal of sticky confectioneries.
But it had it’s effects on him later, and as the evening approached, the Jounin looked forward to the quiet, beginning to make a habit out of winding down before bed by staying up to read in the living room until he felt suitably tired and calm enough to sleep.
He found that it made for decent stress relief when meditating became difficult through a lack of focus, and occasionally wondered if Kakashi did the same thing for a similar reason. Except as the man was rarely caught without his masked nose in a book, and he really wondered the purpose. Then again, maybe he just really truly enjoyed reading the same novels repeatedly all day.
Settling further down into the cushions of the couch while his eyes passed over the pages of a new book, Neji allowed his thoughts to wander until they disappeared.
