Gon looked at the run-down house. According to the coordinates Beyond had given him, this was the place the cry of help was sent from. It had taken him less than 20 minutes to get there, rushing full-speed through the city, ignoring the danger of rushing through the rickety buildings. In his hand he was holding a bottle of water and some leftovers of the fish him and Killua had had for lunch. Of course he had taken them secretly: He knew Killua didn't exactly approve of his habit of risking himself for people he didn't know. However, he himself knew this Beyond couldn't be a bad person. Bad people don't cry like that!
He made his way to the door and knocked. When no-one answered, he hesitated only for a slight second before slowly opening the door. "Beyond? Are you there?"
Beyond happily opened his eyes as he heared the voice. "Over here!", he said alout and somehow managed to talk a bit more... normal. Not as weak as he really was. He sat up. The world was spinning round a bit but he ignored it.
"Ah!" There he was! Gon smiled, relieved relieved to hear the man already sounding a bit better. He skipped over to the bed. "Here, I brought you these," he said as he placed the fish on the table and twisted the cork on the water bottle open before handing it to Beyond. "How are you feeling?"
Beyond takes the bottle and drinks a bit water. "Thank you.." Then he had a short look over Gon's head like he always has, when he meets someone. Numbers dancing arround, but nothing he wasn't used to.
"Well... Better than a while ago, but world is strangely spinning around..."
"You'll be okay now. But you should remember to drink on a hot day like this! Take care of your body, or your mind won't work either... That's what Mito-san always told me."
Gon sat down next to the bed. He was still worried, but not as much for the man's health as he was for the fact that he seemed so lonely, laying there all alone with no-one else even bothering coming to help. He cuoldn't help asking: "Beyond, you don't have anyone here that you know? From your world, I mean."
Beyond stayed queit for a while. "Mello was from my wold. But he's dead." Then he takes a deep breath. "There is another one. But he wouldn't care. I hate him anyway" Beyond looks out of the window, his mind seems to be far away.
/back from hiatus, a lil late but would still like to finish this if you're okay with it? :3jankenpouAugust 26 2009, 00:18:33 UTC
Gon felt sorry for the man. He knew what it was like to hate someone, and while he hadn't exactly given up on it yet, he also had an idea how hard it would be if he lost someone dear to him like that permanently. He briefly wondered what he would do if he was denied all hope of ever seeing his father again, or was forced to accept Kite is gone? He didn't want to think about it. But now, seeing the lonely man before him having gone through that, his first instinct was to try and help him somehow, anyhow.
"I don't mind." That's right, it wasn't just because of pity, and it wasn't that he was afraid anything. It's just that Gon wanted to believe best of people, and while his intuition could pick up some faint dangerous vibes beneath the man's loneliness, it's nothing Gon couldn't deal with should they surface. He was strong. He wanted Beyond to be strong.
"You were my friend the moment I first talked to you, I was just asking if you would make me your friend too." He wasn't smiling, but you could tell Gon meant it with all his honest heart.
Beyond hesitated. He hesitated a long time. "I'm not used to friends", he said simply after a while. "But in this world, things change a lot. Yeah, I think we could be friends.." He stares out of the window, thinking.
Gon let out a relieved laughter. He didn't say it, but he was a bit lonely too, even with Killua here. He missed everyone, and with each new friend he made here things looked a bit brighter. "I'm glad!"
Then he turned to his new friend, who was now facing the window, deep in thought. "What are you thinking, Beyond?", he asked, curious.
He shook his head. "N-nothing. I mean... not nothing. I thought of the only friend I had, back in my world... But that doesn't matter. He commited suicide a long time ago" He looked shortly at the numbers over Gon's head.
"He committed suicide and... It doesn't matter." Gon repeated numbly. That didn't make any sense to him - It couldn't possibly 'not matter' if the person was dear enough for Beyond to be thinking about even now, right? Gon briefly wondered if that's the reason why Beyond was crying, but at the last minute stopped himself from asking. He had come to cheer the man up, not to make him remember sad things. Yeah, that's right. He flexed his arm muscles as he winked, a determined look on his face. "But all that matters is what you do from now on, right? And I'll be your friend... Believe me I'm stronger than I look, so I won't die easy!" he told Beyond, meaning every word of it.
Gon was about to say something, until he caught the smile on Beyond's face. Yeah, that's right, everything would be okay for him now. Gon replied with a smile on his own. "Hey Beyond, Do you like fishing?" he suddenly asked to change the subject. It was probably a silly question, but at least it gave something to talk about; Gon saw Beyond was tired but didn't want to leave him here alone right now.

There they were again, friendly people.
"... I don't know if this would end good for you...", he said slowly.
