Sasori had been tracking the girl for some time now. He wasn't going to use Hiruko for this job because as much protection as it gave him, it didn't really do much for stealth. She claimed to had been able to defeat him; even Deidara backed up the story. If her abilities were really that great, well, she'd make an excellent addition to his collection. If not, he woudl have his hands on the perfect bait.

He watched as she changed direction and headed for the nearest building. Still hiding his chakra, he lazily threw a senbon at her shoulder, not expecting it to hit its mark.

The senbon flew past her shoulder and landed on the ground a few feet from her foot. She dropped her bag and reached for a kunai from her weapon pouch. Standing her ground, she slowly turned to the direction the senbon had come from and tried to figure out exactly where it had come from.

Someone was following her, she was sure. And whoever it was probably wasn't friendly. And, seeing the weapon, it must been a ninja and all of the nin that she lived with wouldn't attack her. The only other explanation was the Akatsuki.

Sakura really hoped that she was wrong this time.

He watched as she turned to face the direction where she thought he was. Analysing her movements, she hadn't looked like much of a threat back at the cavern and she didn't now either. Was this really the girl that was able to defeat him? Sasori was fairly confident in his ability to assess the worth of opposing shinobi. Best to keep his guard up though, just in case.

He stopped hiding his chakra and revealed himself. He reached into his robes to pull out one of his puppet scrolls.

"Weren't you going to defeat me again? Don't keep me waiting now."

The voice sent a chill down Sakura's spine and Sasori himself stepping out of the building didn't help much either. She was scared, yes, but she couldn't let it show. Sakura was alone in this battle, she couldn't afford to show weakness.

"Sasori. Don't worry...I'll defeat you this time like I did back at that cavern."

And he had his puppet scroll...that was never a good thing. She tightened her grip on her kunai and assessed the situation. If she attacked him now, she risked running right into his trap...but if she waited she had a whole army of puppets to deal with.

So she took the option that would mabye win her the battle or at least distract him, she rushed forward toward the Akatsuki member and moved to knock the scroll out of his hands when she got close enough.

"Hm, we'll see."

What a cocky little girl. He wasn't going to bring out the Sandaime Kazekage. At least, not until she proved herself worthy of it.

He watched as she began to charge at him. A head-on attack. How predictable. His stomach coil shot out and aimed for her abdomen as he dodged sideways. Quickly pulling the scroll open, he summoned five or his lesser puppets and made them form a protective stance around him.

She leaped to the side to avoid the coil and landed a few feet away. Sakura watched as he summoned five puppets and inwardly let out a sigh of relief. At least it wasn't his army of puppets all at once.

She focused her chakra into her fists and raced toward the puppets. The first two acting as a shield to Sasori were hit full on with both her fists and both exploded into a million splinters.

It was times like these she was glad she wore gloves.

She smirked as she moved toward the other puppets, arm poised to hit the third once with the same amount of force.

He watched as she easily smashed through two of his puppets and was somewhat surprised at her strength. At least these ones weren't his hitokugutsu.

"That strength is quite impressive."

He quickly manoeuvred the puppet she was aiming for out of the way and got the other two, swords drawn, to simultaneously attack her from behind.

The "compliment" from Sasori didn't stop her attempts at attacking his puppets. Once the third puppet moved out of her range, she turned around just in time to leap backwards away from the swords, though one of them nicked her leg as she jumped back.

She paused for a moment to quickly heal the wound, keeping her eyes on Sasori to see if she needed to stop and defend herself.

Healing abilities too. As interesting as that was, those skills really had no use to him. He took advantage of her pause and made the tow sword-wielding puppets surround and attack while the third rained senbons at her from above.

Sakura managed to dodge the swords again, but a few of the senbon hit their mark and pierced her shoulders and arms. She winced as they hit her, though thanking her lucky starts that her head wasn't hit.

She pulled a few of the senbon out and threw them with all her strength back at the puppet that had initially thrown them. Getting that one out of the way now would be best, since it could attack from long distances.

Sasori noted the brief, controlled, flare of chakra that seemed to come with most of her attacks. Ah, her strength was probably based on her chakra control. Pity. He came to the conclusion that she was a taijustu based fighter and he really didn't have much need for those.

He watched passively as another one of his puppets shattered. Discarding his two remaining puppets, he pulled out another scroll.

"I've grown bored of this. Shall we end it now?"

She didn't respond, but she knew that this needed to end quickly. She couldn't win here but she needed to distract him so she could make an escape.

But it came as a surprise to her when he threw his other puppets to the side and brought another scroll out. What was he planning?

Sakura moved to a defensive position, waiting for him to make his move, since she doubted attacking head on again would do anything to help her.

He smirked slightly as she went defensive. He summoned the Sandaime Kazekage and struck a cool pose.

He quickly manipulated the iron sand to come at her from every direction, she would have no way to escape. The battle had gone on for long enough.

Her eyes widened as he summoned the "Kazekage" from the scroll. Before she could react to that, the sand began to fly around her, cutting off every exit that she had moments ago. There wasn't much chance of escape now.

"Damn it..."

She looked around her wildly, trying to see if there would be a break in the sand for her to get out.

The sand struck and she was caged in. He hadn't been aiming for any of her vital organs so she was fine. Well, as fine as a person would be when poisoned. He watched as the poison became to take effect before approaching her.

"Don't worry, this will only be very painful and paralyse you," he told her in a sickly, sweet reassuring voice, "I have use for you yet."

Sakura screamed as the sand hit her and the moment it touched her body, the poison began to take effect. The pain swelled through her whole body as she fell to the ground, the paralysis part of the poison also beginning to show it's effects on her body.

Her body shook but she found that she couldn't move apart from that.

"W-what the h-hell...are you...p-planning...?"
