Summary: After fighting with Ichigo and moving into her new digs, Rukia goes out and an old familiar face says hello
The day wasn't even half-done yet, and Rukia already had the beginnings of a headache behind her temples. Possibly it was a delayed reaction to the idiocy of yesterday; Ichigo had behaved more obnoxiously than usual, and Ishida and Near both seemed more immature than she had expected of them. Ichigo did sometimes have that effect on people. On the whole, she was feeling rather annoyed with all the men in her life. She hoped she'd done the right thing by moving out of the clinic.
She missed Renji. At least he would let her use him as a punching bag to get her aggression out. Probably.
She circled the area of the safe zone she'd come to think of as her home neighborhood in a cross between patrolling and exploring. The murderous fog had lifted, but Rukia didn't trust things to stay calm. Even if they did, it was important to know the area well. A street rat who knew all the bolt holes was a street rat who survived. Some things were even deeper ingrained in her than all the noble lessons the Kuchiki could offer.
Squinting up at the wrecked buildings, she stopped at a cross-street to get her bearings and decide where to go next.
