As promised to Cissnei, Ginia waited outside for the arrival of the newest housemate. Ever the productive one, she was cleaning up the area of all the stray debris that had crawled, jumped, or wiggled its way into the yard and airing out some bedsheets and drying other clothing on the clothesline. Jack and Paa also kept her company, Jack dragging or carrying off whatever he could handle in his mouth while Paa sat on the clothesline eating a nut.

She was glad Cissnei was coming to live with them, even if Gojyo had reservations about the younger woman. In a house full of men (and one hermaphrodite), it was nice having female company, someone she could mother or sister around. The innate need to place her maternal instincts on someone else as Alice called it and Ginia supposed it was true; she did enjoy mothering people when she could.

Sometimes Ginia wondered if she was trying to make up for lost time and be a surrogate mother or sister while she still could be one or trying to find some sense of redemption for her past actions as a hired assassin. Or there was always the third option of making sure people didn't follow her own history. That was certainly part of the reason she doted on Natalie so much and she knew Jack the human knew that as well. He'd certainly targeted her maternal instincts when asking her to take care of Natalie and Ben, that sneaky bastard.

But Natalie wasn't here and Ginia had a feeling her time with the young woman was over. But there was Cissnei to care for now, not that she needed to be cared for in the same way as Natalie. She was older, responsible enough, and able to take are of herself; Cissnei wasn't a child and Ginia knew that. But she cared and she worried and she mothered. Or sistered.

Ginia pinned one of Hakkai's shirts onto the line, carefully maneuvering the clothespin while holding the fabric with one hand. Her left hand and arm, limp and useless, was resting in a sling against her chest where it could remain safe and out of the way. Though it wasn't easy and did make some things slower, Ginia was getting used to working with one hand.

She heard the beeping of a PCD somewhere in the close distance and quickly looked around for the source of it before spotting Cissnei. Smiling, Ginia raised her fingers to her lips and whistled loudly while Jack perked up and ran over to greet the new arrival, the mixed-breed dog happily wagging his tail.

Cissnei was nervously threading and unthreading her fingers together, a habit that she had gotten since coming to Adstringendum. Fingers tightening around each other, then releasing themselves from their own grasps: a repetitive flow. Just as Cissnei was beginning to feel nervous and childish for getting nervous, she heard a whistle and jerked around to the source of the sound - as she felt fur against her leg and looked around at the ground, slightly surprised by the sudden touch until her eyes fell on the dog.
Or 'doggy', as she would've liked to call it.

Immediately, Cissnei beamed and kneeled down to fuss over Jack, then, looking up after a moment at Ginia, she waved, her PCD stuffed back into her pocket.

"Ginia!" she called out, giving Jack a last little cuddle before standing up again, striding over towards her. Cissnei blinked a little, cringing, when she spotted the sling, faltering very slightly in her steps before continuing to walk over. Noting how Ginia was at work with the laundry, she quickened her pace and gave a smile to her friend.

"Do you need help?"

Jack gave a bark in greeting and carefully sniffed Cissnei's hand before he sat down and extended a paw in greeting. While the two had never met, animal sense told Jack she was someone friendly and safe. When Cissnei began moving toward Ginia and the house, Jack happily padded after her, quickly running back to Ginia's side.

Ginia pinned a final shirt to the clothes line and gave Cissnei a warm smile. It was always nice meeting someone for the first time after talking to them for so long over the network. Even with everyone living in the same city, distance and events made it hard to get out and see people at times.

She gave a gentle shake of her head and paused a little. Had she ever warned Cissnei about her muteness? Some part of her said yes, but she wasn't entirely sure. Learning toward the safe side of things, Ginia pulled her PCD out of her pocket and quickly typed out a message before holding her device out so she could read the message.

/No, I'm finished here. I'm sorry, I don't know if I ever told you, but I'm mostly mute and it's easier for me to talk through typing or sign language. Feel free to speak though, it's perfectly fine with me. But I'm glad to finally meet you./

Cissnei smiled wider after her first smile was returned; it was one of the few proper smiles she ever gave. She was glad, too, to receive a smile after such a long period of keeping herself into her own room, and felt refreshed after seeing it.

She watched as Ginia shook her head, and cocked her head to the side. As sGiniatyped out a message, Cissnei puzzled before remembering something. Feeling slightly embarrassed, but not really knowing why at the same time, Cissnei nodded and replied, "It's great to meet you too!" and after a short pause, "Yes, I know about it. Either Alice or you told me."

The joy of having a split-personality was never quite knowing what was going on. While there were times when she knew the things Alice had done--sometimes it was faint ideas or little reminders to ask about things, other times she remembered things as if she had been the one out herself--more often than not she was left in the dark about things. She felt a little trepidation knowing Cissnei already encountered Alice, but the younger woman hadn't mentioned her in a negative light and it felt okay. People were (mostly) accepting of Alice here. They weren't going to be cast out.

/It was probably Alice. She's... I hope she didn't give you any trouble./ Even if Ginia felt fine about things, an apology always seemed right as she never knew what happened while she was out.

/Why don't you come inside? Are you hungry or do you want something to drink?/

Cissnei was still slightly confused about having two personalities in a single body, and when she visualised it in her mind, it looked... Confusing, and sad. Perhaps because she couldn't imagine having someone else taking over herself, losing her own control. Cissnei thought Alice appeared darker and more serious than Ginia, but Ginia and Alice were both nice people and she decided on keeping it that way.

"Not at all," Cissnei replied hurriedly, wondering what sort of trouble Alice usually gave but being too polite to ask.

Cissnei dipped her head for "Yes", but declined the offer for food.
She wasn't over her... Weird feeling of nervousness yet, it seemed, though meeting Ginia had certainly made her feel better already.

Up on the clothesline, Paa was entertaining himself by crawling in and out of the clothing and making himself comfortable. With a little squeak, he climbed back up on the line and squeaked at Cissnei before gliding over to land on Ginia's head. Ginia gave a small laugh and plucked the little pet off her head and set it on her shoulder and gave him a little scratch on the head.

/This is Paa, my pet flying squirrel,/ Ginia explained on her PCD while Paa chittered and twitched his tail at Cissnei, inspecting her in his own little way. /I'm sure you'll meet the rest of the zoo shortly enough, humans and pets a like./

Ginia knew Cissnei was a little wary when it came to meeting the rest of the household, Gojyo included, but she would have to meet all of them eventually. Better sooner than later.

Umm umm ummm... WHERE. tsengsilence July 14 2009, 11:51:53 UTC
Cissnei's eyes widened as she noticed Paa, and as she watched the flying critter, she began to wonder about the numbers and numbers of different worlds that had been compressed into Adstringendum. More people from home would come, perhaps; maybe even the dangerous ones.

Cissnei was slightly still lost in thoughts but managed to snap back and reply, "It's really cute! The sugar glider looks like this too? Why the 'sugar'? And... You kept one of the Waste Monsters?" Plainly curious. Shooting her mouth off with questions again.

Then she took in the rest of Ginia's sentence and her calm did a little flop.
"I will, huh."

/The sugar glider looks similar, she's a little longer in shape. And she's called a sugar glider since they enjoy eating sweet things like fruit. And actually, from what I heard, Alice found this little guy at the hot springs and the house convinced her to take it home with her. But sugar gliders and flying squirrels exist in my world; they're domestic pets in some areas./

Ginia gave a reassuring smile and motioned for Cissnei to follow her into the house, picking up the laundry basket on the way. The personalities in the household were certainly varied and a few of them stronger than others, but Ginia trusted all of them with her life and liked all of them. Sanzo was perhaps the only exception, but that was only because they hadn't talked as much and not because he was any less trustworthy even if he did shoot at Gojyo and Goku whenever they began to argue.

/Welcome to the zoo,/ Ginia commented on her device after setting the laundry basket down on the couch. She'd spent the afternoon tidying up, but there were some things in the household that never changed; the ashtray on the table, the magazines and newspaper stacked neatly by the coffee table, and the bullet holes in the wall. Such was home.

That shady character leaning against the wall? OH YEEEAH YEEEAH I SEE HER. XD tsengsilence July 14 2009, 12:36:03 UTC
Cissnei nodded to show that she had heard and understood, and began to walk, or trudge, behind Ginia as they entered the house. It seemed empty and quiet enough. Cissnei's hopes soared, but she didn't really know why herself.

Laughing at Ginia's comment, Cissnei took a look around. It looked how a house with many occupants was supposed to look, but Cissnei could feel the homeliness in this place, the warmth. Perhaps one day she could be part of this warmth. She noted the ashtray and told herself to stay away from the owner, if they ever met: she didn't like the smell. Other than that, the place looked nice.

She almost commented on the wall, but held herself back.
"It feels and looks great."

Ginia smiled at Cissnei's compliment and motioned for her to take a seat on any of the chairs or the couch in the living room before she went to the kitchen. Even if Cissnei didn't ask for any food, it was getting late in the day and Ginia wEnt sure if she'd eaten or not; there was the maternal side showing through. Ginia poured a glass of water and pulled out a small bowl of berries from the fridge and carried them out on a tray and set them on the coffee table before she took her PCD back out.

/Help yourself. Best to eat a little before the boys eat everything. Dinner is later in the evening./

Kanzeon had napped, and as usual after a nap, she was sleepy and grumpy, and in need of caffeine. Meeting the next guest did not register on er list of to-do things for now.

She blinked as she walked into the living room and saw Cissnei there. She then promptly ignored the scene, walked into the kitchen, got some cold coffee into a mug, then came back to the living room, flopped down in a chair, stole a cigarette from one of Gojyo's pack laying there and lit up by snapping her fingers.

She took a long drag out of the cigarette, a drink of the coffee, and sighed happily.

"Hello, girls."

((OOC : For Cissnei-mun, Kanzeon is in her usual get up and as such half-naked from the waist up, with very visisble breasts.))

Cissnei laughed a little at that, obediently seating herself down before the table, going for the glass more than the berries. As Cissnei heard a door opening and closing, a little confused as to what to do, she turned to Ginia with a pleading look in her eyes, glass still in her hand. Nervously, she took a sip and didn't dare look up.

But at the greeting, Cissnei's head snapped up as she replied automatically, "Hello."

Soon she wished she hadn't.

Hearing noise in the kitchen, Gojyo put up his utter failure of an attempt at woodcarving. "Come on, you," he said to Zhong as he moved her from his stomach to his shoulder, getting up. He wandered downstairs just in time to see Cissnei see Kanzeon. Now there was something he was glad he hadn't missed.

"Damn, Spiky, and that's mild in this house. You might want to get used to strange shit going on. Hell, we've got monkey that tries to eat everything. Are you up for this?" His grin was teasing as e leaned against the wall.

Having lived with Kanzeon for so long, Ginia was quite used to the way the Living Embodiment of Mercy and Compassion dressed (if dressed could even be used to describe what little clothing sie wore) and reminding Cissnei about it was something that had slipped her mind. She bowed politely to the Goddess before giving Cissnei an apologetic look and quickly typed out a message.

/I'm sorry, I forgot to warn you about the way Kanzeon dresses. But meet Kanzeon./

To Kanzeon, Ginia smiled and motioned toward Cissnei. /Kanzeon, this is Cissnei./

Ginia looked over when Gojyo entered the room and gave him a small smile and waved her fingers at Zhong. From her own shoulder, Paa squeaked and twitched his tail at his sugar glider cousin.

Cissnei cringed very slightly in her seat and for a moment, she felt like a cat bristling. Watching carefully (and avoiding looking at the Goddess), Cissnei observed how politely Ginia bowed and stopped herself from raising an eyebrow. Bending forward slightly to read the message, Cissnei made no sound other than something that sounded like a tiny "Right".

At the sound of another person entering the room, Cissnei turned back in her seat, away from Ginia, and looked towards the voice. Something in her neck cricked. She didn't want to know what. Hearing his remark, she turned to look at Ginia again, whilst speaking.

"Maybe."
