[log] the second scroll

Jun 25, 2009 03:24

Characters: Hatake Kakashi (turn_a_blindeye) & Mitarashi Anko (scarysnakelady)
When: Sometime June 24th. After the volleyball game and the log with Neji.
Where: The Hyuuga Household.
Rating: PG?
Summary: Sometime later in the evening, following his visit with Neji, Kakashi goes to see Anko and ask her to keep safe some valuable information from him. ...Yes, he's asking Anko.

Kakashi looked down at the scroll in his hand. Beneath layers of seals requiring his own chakra, and a little blood, to release, was as much detail as Kakashi had been able and willing to divulge about himself. It was part biography, part catalogue. Lists of comrades, enemies, personal experiences. How to treat Obito, Team Seven... Knowledge of his own death, of Obito's death, Sensei's, and of Sasuke's departure from Konoha. The story Alphonse had told him (or, rather, let Itachi tell him) about the Uchiha Massacre and Itachi's defection. Reminders, warnings, things he just wanted his other self to know, should he come back without memory. It was a dangerous piece of paper. Nearly everything about Kakashi, and quite a bit about his allies, was in here. In the wrong hands it could be fatal.

Why, then, was he trusting Anko with it?

He had been trying to justify that to himself since making the decision. He refused to believe the call had anything to do with the family swapping event. That was stupid. Instead, it made more sense to assume that Team Seven, Obito, and Gai were too close to the situation to be effective, and that Kakashi was (despite everything) inherently more trusting of his own ninja than his new allies...even Maes. Neji already had the first scroll, the one with the instructions, as he was best suited for that task. After the recent disappearances, that left only Anko to give this one to. She was, despite her flaws, a professional when she needed to be. Kakashi did trust her. And all she had to do was put the scroll somewhere safe, and not mention it to anyone until Kakashi showed up again.

She was probably going to think all these precautions were ridiculous, which they probably were. But too many people had forgotten everything about this place, and Kakashi hated to imagine coming here knowing nothing, but being known. It scared him. The thought of not knowing his team or knowing about Obito's sacrifice was the worst of it.

So he knocked on her door. Three short knocks, ample warning for a ninja, and then Kakashi turned the knob and entered without further ado. "Hey, you don't mind me just dropping in, do you?"

hatake kakashi, *event: vamos a la playa!, *event, *incomplete, mitarashi anko
