Murrue stood up in the early morning, carefully trying not to wake either Sion or Tieria. She wanted to help Ritsuka with the burial of the deaths today. Burial. How many burials she has witnessed already? She took a pendant, decorated with a red rose and the initials 'R.I.P' out... her first lover who died in the war. Than there was... Mwu. He also died in the flames of war... and admiral Halberton... and many more.

The times in this place has also been horrible... fortunately, things have gone better by now. Murrue smiled slightly. Yes, she had promised Ritsuka to make some origami-cranes and flowers with him.

As her mind has wandered, she realized a small figure, seemingly digging something. "Ritsuka-kun?"

Ritsuka looked up and saw a tall brown haired woman. He stood up and dusted the dirt off his pants. His mouth opened wide as he surveyed the landscape, people were beginning to show up! He decided maybe he should take his rounds and see how everyone was doing.

"Hello. Thanks for coming. I put things to bury with the dead on that rock over there."

Murrue smiled at the boy. It was so nice of him to think of something like a burial, even as everyone was still worried about what could happen to the living ones. She patted his head shortly.

"It is really you we have to thank, Ritsuka-kun. Then I'll start folding some of the cranes... if you want, you can join me... I'll show you how it works..."

Everyone had been thanking him. He wasn't sure what he had done that was so important that he needed to be thanked. It was a nice gesture anyway.

He was interested to fold the cranes and thought that it would be nice to make his own. "Okay, teach me how to fold them." He looked up at her attentively.

Murrue smiled again. "Okay, come here to sit with me, Ritsuka-kun."

Murrue sat down on one of the stones and took out the paper she had brought with her. "Here you are, Ritsuka-kun", she gave him some of the paper, since she assumed he hadn't brought any with him.

"Are you ready?"

He took the paper, it was a pure white. It would be perfect for today. "I'm ready," he said. He had never gotten a chance to do this before..he was kind of excited- in spite of what they were folding the cranes for.

He sat down beside her, paper at the ready.

"Okay, Ritsuka-kun... first of all, you have to fold the paper right in the middle...", Murrue slowly folded her paper in the middle, ensuring that Ritsuka could follow her movements. "Now the paper has got the shape of a triangle... and we have to do it again... there should be two diagonales within the paper."

Murrue looked at Ritsuka and waited that he started folding his.

As he instructed, he folded the paper in the middle, creasing the paper carefully so that it was even. He did the same thing again..watching her intently before doing it on his own. "How does that look, Murrue-san?"

"That looks already very nice, Ritsuka-kun", she ensured him.
"So... this step is a bit more difficult.. you have to fold one half so that you get a pocket... and then spread the pocket out from the inside and fold to make a small square", she tried not to be hasty.

Ritsuka blinked a few times, this part was a little tricky. He tried his best to fold it inside to make a square, but in the process ended up getting a paper cut. "Ouch.." he looked at Murrue. "I'm going to stain it now.." he frowned.

Murrue looked at the boy with a gentle smile. "Let me take a look at it... it shouldn't get infected, should it?" Especially in a place like this... with all the dead...

Murrue took Ritsuka's hand and looked at it carefully. This was the second time in this world she was glad she had always something with her to treat the wounded. She didn't have plaster, but a small bandage and dressed the wound. Too bad that she has thrown the disinfectant at the insects in her fight with that strange thing.

"There you are..."

Ritsuka let her put the bandage on him and afterward, he checked it out. Everyone is so nice to me..I wonder why? "Thank you Murrue-san," he said as he took his paper and finished folding it properly.

Murrue smiled slightly as she watched Ritsuka folding the paper. Yes, she remembered the time her crew did it... on the Archangel... they've tried to search for asyl, but it was only a dead end... and their resources had started to run short... Mwu had proposed that they took the ones which were floating through the debris belt... and they ended up finding the dead people of Junius-7...

"So... are you ready for the next step?"

He nodded. "Do you make other things besides paper cranes? I used to know someone who folded paper." That was a long time ago..three years..at least to the small boy, it felt like a long time.

"Well... I have not that much experience with paper-folding... and cranes happen to be the thing I am used to most..."
Such dark stories about war, people attacking each other with nuclear weapons, people fighting in despair for their defence... they weren't fit for a young boy... even though he had to witness the death of many here...

"You knew someone? Was it a kind person?"

"Just..someone. They aren't here, though."
