It was an odd feeling. Being at the beach. It wasn't something she did much of, if at all, in her world.

She relaxed a little as she walked along the shore where the waters just barely made their climb. The part of the sand was that firmer than the rest and made small footprints that faded like time. What was even more odd, was she didn't have her Innocence on. Her legs were bare for once with nothing but a soft white wrap covering them that was slung on her hip.

She still felt naked with the bikini top on, but strands of wavey black hair from the day of swimming were pulled over her shoulder in hopes of hiding just a little bit of naked skin. Other than the trivial discomforts, she seems rather happy.

It was a lovely night.

Zephyr was slightly impressed by the amount of activity he had seen along the shore, even during the night. So there were others who enjoyed the darkness as well. Different that what he had expected. Many feared it, rather than seeing the beauty of it.

He paused, seeing Rinali walking in his direction. He was still quite embarrassed after discovering what had happened after he was injured by the dragon, and was still not sure how to approach the topic. So, he would avoid it for now. He put on a faint smile as he decided to continue down the beach. "It's a wonderful night, isn't it?" He asked Rinali, pausing again to stare out at the newly formed ocean.

She heard a voice and instantly became hopeful, but when she recognized it for it not being who she thought, she was only minorly disappointed. Zephyr was still a close friend and though he confessed to her and seemed to of ignored it since, she believed that's where it would stay.

A small smile painted her lips and she waved over to him. "It is. I'm glad you decided to come out and experience it for yourself." She said before she turned to glance over the ocean's calm surface that brought back bittersweet memories of her time before she was swept away here.

She cleared her throat to try and ignore ghosts of the past and glanced back up at him. "Come for a swim?" she teased.

"I couldn't come out until the sun had at least partially set." He replied, tilting his head slightly. "It's not like I didn't want to check this all out, it's just that I had to wait." He smiled a bit more and shrugged.

At the mention of swimming, his smile changed to a slight smirk. "Sure." His hand went to a button on the control panel of his suit and then to a small pocket on his waist, revealing an interesting little device. "I'll beat you to the water." He stated, grinning as he popped the device into his mouth and shifted into the shadows.

She stared at the device but soon ignored it and moved her hands to the knot on her waist where her fabric wrap was. "Always the one for competition aren't you?" She smiled, and unwrapped herself to just her bikini bottoms.

"Hurry hurry." She mused before she set her wrap off down on the dry sand and headed towards the calming waves.

Zephyr waited under the water, his rebreather allowing him to breathe safely underwater by filtering oxygen through it, and allowing him to breathe back out without water leaking in. He felt a bit odd for some reason, there was something that seemed to draw him towards the darker depths of the waters, but he ignored it for now.

She watched him swim around like a shark and just shook her head with a small smile, wading in the water normally. Even at night it felt nice and warm and the air was dry and hot even with the sun gone. Sure beat the rain that happened only earlier.

After a few minutes, Zephyr decided to surface, just allowing his head to stick out. He popped the rebreather out and grinned, his long black hair now plastered to his face. "The water is excellent." He stated, seeming to float there in the water.

She blinked then laughed at his hair that was plastered. She waded over to him and gently pushed his hair from his eyes. "Yeah it is. I haven't done anything like this in forever it seems."

Zephyr was very glad it was dark out, to conceal the blush that had crept onto his cheeks as she brushed his hair away. "It's been years since I've had this much freedom." He replied, smiling faintly.

"Same. I haven't been free like this since I was..three." She mused, remembering her life in China that seemed nothing more than a distant dream. "After that- I was bound to the Order. But it's for my brother. So- I'll happily stay for him." She said with a nod, still idly pushing strands of his hair away.

"It's been three years now since my life was destroyed by the government. Three years of being hunted, running, and trying to survive." His smile faded and he closed his eyes for a moment, now finding her presence somewhat comforting.

"I don't even know what fate has already befallen my friends in my absence."

She shook her head slowly and sighed lightly. She dropped her hands to her sides, letting her fingertips dance across the water's surface. "I don't know either...but we have to have faith in our friends...if we constantly worry here then we'd drive ourselves insane with worry." She said to him as well as to herself.

She was grateful that Allen was here, but with Lavi and her brother and everyone else back in their world...it was still a bundle of worry.

"I've already lost them once. I need to see them again. The Animus hold the key to doing so." He opened his eyes, the slitted pupils seemed slightly thinner than usual.

Zephyr shook his head to himself, had he already said too much? They'd try to stop him if they realized what he had planned.

She stared at him for a long moment and in order to try and lighten the mood, she splashed a hand full of water at him, trying to offer a small smile.

"Come on, something more light hearted is needed."

He couldn't help but smile at least somewhat. It was hard to stay stressed around Rinali, and he ducked underwater, using his darkness to create a small wave crashing over them.
