Just as Mello had told Near, he didn't stay in the nearest room. Instead, he was seven rooms away, where he could at least control the corridors and see who entered and left the pale genius' bedroom.
Back resting against the wall in the corridor, Mello waited for Matt. He'd been observing the scientists basement for quite a while already, waiting for the infamous attack to start. Although nothing had happened yet, Mello'd decided that he wanted a better view of every angle (total control, as he liked it), and thus he needed more cameras installed in all the nearest buildings.
