Admittedly, she knew that the man she thought of as Kenchan wasn't really her Kenchan, but that didn't change that she felt attached to that body. She had seen what Kenchan had become, and she didn't like it.

This meant that like it or not, this Colonel Mustang-person, whom she had dubbed Mustang-pachi, was stuck with her. So long as he had her Kenchan's body she was gonna stick by his side. That body was just as much Kenchan's as it was her's. She felt more comfortable attached to it, couldn't sleep as well unless he was there for her to curl up on if she had a nightmare, and felt like less of a person the farther she got from it.

Skipping happily along, she followed her 'Kenchan-sense' towards where she had told Mustang-pachi to meet her. Noticing the familiar form in the distance she increased her speed, not pausing until she was halfway up his bag and preparing to cling to his shoulder. "Hi Mustang-pachi, I'm here!"

The arrival of Yachiru was less of an arrival, and more like an assault. The force pushed him forwards a few steps, but he managed to get his balance before they both toppled to the ground. He didn't want another cut to scar his face... not that it would make it look any worse. how could it?"Mustang, what?" He asked dumbly, looking at his shoulder as the... child? No, this was no child. He swallowed and stared for a little while longer before clearing his throat. "So I see. Yachiru, wasn't it ( ... )

The fact that Mustang-pachi almost got toppled over by the sheer force of Yachiru's minuscule weight didn't even filter through her bright, sunshiny giddiness at being able to spend time with her new-old best friend.

"Ne, Mustang-pachi, weren' ya payin' attention silly!" She grinned widely as she settled into place clinging onto his right shoulder, poking her head up to stare at him in shock. "Yeah, I'm Yachiru! Ya should know this already!"

Sure, she understood that he really wasn't Kenpachi but that didn't mean that his body had the right to forget who she was! If she didn't think Kenchan might be mad about it later she'd kick him in knee for making her new friend forget who she was. She'd forgive him this time though, mainly 'cause he seemed kind of cranky.

If he wanted to go exploring she wouldn't object. The weekly hunting sessions were just so she could spend alone time with Kenchan.

"Ne, we could go check out the Wastes! Or do ya an' yer friends not eat meat? I know where some fishies are, an' they're huge!"

His eyebrow arched high into across his forehead as she scolded him for his slack, and for a brief moment he wondered what he looked like when he did that now... for some people it just wasn't the right look. Damnit.

"Of course, of course." He retorted, trying his best to keep his voice airy. It was odd, he didn't owe anything to Yachiru, or Kenpachi, but he supposed for his sanity and perhaps because he felt sure that this kid wasn't going to give him a break he ought to be on his best behaviour. At least until he had more of an understanding of Yachiru and her attitude.

"The wastes, huh? No, No, Meat is good, we can try and cook it after?" He asked, not sure... would Kenpachi really let this kid eat raw meat? He chuckled softly at her comment about the fish, and jogged his shoulder playfully.

"Point the way?"

She wasn't paying attention to his facial expressions because honestly, she didn't care. In fact, she had already decided that Mustang-pachi was going to take a lot of teaching for this stand-in Kenchan gig to work. It was tiring!

"Ya can cook it, I ain' 'lowed t' use the stove 'cause I might burn the house down!" She spoke in that tone that made it clear that she had heard that particular line quite a bit lately. She giggled at how different his voice sounded compared to Kenchan, and figured she'd get used to that. Hopefully. If not it was gonna be a weird week.

"I ca show ya where t' go! Ya in the mood for bunny 'r somethin' else?" She was thinking, which was obvious by the little finger on her chin.

"First, we gotta get t' the edge o' the city!"

A small grin pulled up across his lips, both thanks to the knowledge that this Kenpachi did actually cook, although he wasn't sure how he could have thought he wouldn't, and the fact that the kid was actually pretty well behaved. At least it wouldn't be too much trouble chasing after her like some dad's had to.

"Rabbit. Is that what you'd like?" He asked smoothly, although it didn't quite seem right to his ears - he used the tone of his voice so effectively normally.

She peeked over his shoulder, noticing the grin and smiling widely in return. She liked her Mustang-pachi best when he smiled. It made him look suitably feral and fun!

"I like rabbit, an' fish, and pretty much anythin' 'xcept sand worm 'cause they're rubbery!" She made a face, sticking out her tongue and shaking her head.

Her smile was a little catching, and he was quite surprised to feel his face stay as it was, grin easy against his lips. His head tipped as he listened to her, letting a chuckle escape at talk of sand worms.

"Well, we shall have to see what we can find out there. No worms though." They were nearing the perimeter of the safe zone now, and he starting making for a breach in the fencing.

She was quite the smiley one most of the time, and she was glad to see that it was catching. His chuckle was different from Kenchan's, but still nice to hear.

"I'll bet we can find all sorts o' stuffs!" She was excited, but then again she was always happy when she got to show off for someone who hadn't seen her fight before.
