"The ladies aren't here yet," Mello corrected him with a smirk. "And don't get your hopes up too much, this might be just a men's party."

Amusingly, only males had replied to Mello's entry. Mello supposed that girls would rather spend time doing girly shit like pajama parties, where they could discuss what boy was the cutest. Clearly, Adstringendum needed more real and fun women.

It was like something was completely out of place. The image of such an innocent and unstained girl contrasting with the soft lights and half-ruined walls was quite a disturbing one. Perhaps she misunderstood Mello's post and thought that this would be a party full of balloons and sweets. He should have made the point clearer.

Mello offered his best smile and approached the girl. "Welcome. How can I help you? Are you lost?" Which was a subtle way to indicate that she shouldn't be there. Not like Mello expected her to get it, though.

Al'd had a feeling he should be here, if only because of the eventualities that would undoubtedly crop up. Mello was acting beyond strange lately, which meant something bad could happen at any time. He hated being suspicious, but as soon as he saw Mila, he tried not to do anything that would give away how surprised he was.

"And you, Matt, are always unfailingly polite," Al said brightly, stepping up just slightly behind Mila and putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. She might not grasp what was happening, and Al meant to be protective. Maybe they couldn't get her to leave, but he'd watch over her.

It was what Kyle would have wanted.

He flashed a brilliant grin at Matt, but his eyes held a hint of warning.

For the first time, Mello was glad to see Alphonse. Knowing the kid's caring nature, he'd make sure that Mila wouldn't have to see or get involved in anything inappropriate.

Oddly, Mello being protective was starting to grow on Alphonse. He gave him a small smile, and a furtive nod before smiling at Mila.

"So you came," Mello finally greeted him with a smirk. "Are you here for the fun or perhaps you're just making sure that I behave?"

"I'm a multitasker," Al responded, and though his smile was still sweet, he knew that Mello knew better. "And you've been behaving yourself nicely so far."

Al was a bit younger than most here, but he was sixteen -- even if his gentle features and dimunitive height (though by no means as short as Edward) made him seem a little younger.

"Hi, Mila," he said brightly. "Hey, did you happen to come with anyone?

Although Al wasn't quite sure of Mila's condition, although she appeared much older than him, she acted quite a bit younger. Adding that towards his natural inclination towards protection of girls, and that she reminded him a little of Nina... well, one can imagine.

"I guess you were!" Al didn't mind the little face; he actually thought it was a bit cute. "At least you won't be bored now. Have you been to many parties?"
