Characters: Luke fon Fabre and Daxter When: Monday morning Where: Eco Barrel area Rating: PG-13 Summary: Daxter uncovered Luke's darkest secret and, upon waking up, Luke attempts to run. Daxter goes after Luke before he can escape.
Daxter had heard the ruckus and, as the room he shared with Jak was also the one closest to the bar, he had no problem spotting Luke making a hasty exit. "...?" It didn't take a genius to figure out that Luke was running away.
Much smarter than he was given credit for, Daxter didn't bother following him directly, instead going out through the window and dashing around the front. He got there just in time to see Luke emerge from the bar. "Hey!"
Shit...it didn't look like he was going to be able to escape without being caught after all. At Daxter's voice he froze up and looked over to where Daxter had appeared, looking very much like a deer caught in the headlights. Maybe...he still had time to escape before Daxter caught up to him? He was sure his friend hated him now for what he had done and now was going to yell at him for how stupid he was.
With that thought, Luke regained movement in his body and tried to make a dash away from the house and away from Daxter.
When Luke fled from him, Daxter was more than a little surpised. He dashed after him, fast enouh to keep up, but there was no way he could stop him as an Ottsel...Was his friend worth being naked on the street? It took about half a second for him to decide that Luke was one of the few people it was worth it for...besides it was early enough that no one should see.
So he leapt at the fleeing redhead, transforming in a flash of Eco just before he hit him.
Luke glanced back just in time to see a very naked, human Daxter leaping toward him before he collided with Luke's back. Not expecting the assault, Luke fell down onto the ground with a loud thump. He struggled in the Ottsel-turned-human's grip on the ground.
"Forget it Red," the gangly redhead atop him said. "You're gonna tell me why ya suddenly need ta run away." He moved so he was sitting crosslegged on Luke's rear end, in a feeble attempt to keep his modesty. "Now talk, I can sit here all day." It was a bluff, of course, but Daxter knew Luke wouldn't want to be stuck under him like this any more than he wanted to be outside like this.
"You saw what happened for yourself..." Luke said as he stopped struggling under his friend. "I don't really need to explain anything."
This was the part, Luke believed, when Daxter would show his disgust in his stupid actions and, just like everyone else (except Guy and Tear), abandon him for his stupidity. But deep down Luke thought he deserved all the abandonment from his friends and the guilt that was still hanging heavily on his shoulders.
"Y-you don't care? No even after seeing me kill all those people and destroyed Akzeriuth?"
Luke turned his head and looked up at Daxter in disbelief. Everyone had been disgusted with him after Akzeriuth...why would Daxter be different? He even saw everything for himself...so why?
"Ya pretty much got strung along by that it looked like ta me, I got no room ta judge on that."
Daxter leaned in a little. "So let me get this straight...Ya really think I'd hate ya enough ta chase ya and pin ya down in my birthday suit just ta chew ya out?"
"Y-you don't care...?" Luke said softly, still not looking at his friend. "Everyone except for Guy and Tear abandoned me afterwords...why would you be any different?"
"I'd be a real hypocrite if I judged ya on somethin' like that. Ya got fooled by the guy who wanted that ta happen. Me an' Jak did that too. Besides, ta hear everyone but Jak an' Tess my existance might as well be a mistake."
He ruffled Luke's hair. "It don't matter you're someone's copy, and it don't matter ya made that mistake. Ya made it as one of my real friends, an' I can count on one hand how many of them I got." Daxter couldn't believe the stuff that was spouting from his mouth...it was true, but embarrassing.
Even though he heard it straight from Daxter's mouth, it seemed too good to be true. To gain forgiveness this easily was something that he couldn't believe was happening.

Luke gave a small smile of relief, knowing that Daxter wasn't going to hate him now. He turned slightly to look up at Daxter.
"Can you...uhh...get off of me now?"
