Friday Night

A temple. A Buddhist temple. "Dammit. If I'm in Sanzo's head, this is going to fucking suck. No chicks, just a monkey." Gojyo shook his head and opened the closest door, which had noise coming from it. "...hell no. Food everywhere..." And the crayon confirmed it. He wasn't in Sanzo's dream. He was in Goku's. "Why the monkey? Just... why?"

But he's here. He might as well go in. Gojyo steps into the room, trying not to get food tidbits on his shoes or anything else.

Almost immediately after entering the room, he was assaulted by a tackle-hug to the waist from a laughing, 70-something-pound ball of energy. "Ken-chan, you made it! I was wonderin' if you'd come here, too!"

"Ke-who?" He stared at the monkey, and then got it. Right, Kenren. "Oi, Monkey, yeah, I'm here." He ruffled Goku's hair. "I'm surprised you leave food sitting around not-eaten. I expected this place to be too clean for ants."

Gojyo looked around with a smile. "So what's fun to do here?"

[[ooc: Do you know how very confused I was for a good five minutes? I thought I'd mixed up Gojyo and Kenpachi, LOL. Can we go with Ken-nii-chan or something please?]]

"Huh? Whaddya mean? All this stuff's rechargable! It comes back if you eat it. See?" To prove his point, he padded over to a crayon flower that had a small cake for a center and removed the cake. Sure enough, another one began to grow from the center until it had completely replaced the hole.

Munching on the cake, he cocked his head like he was thinking. "Well, this's where all the happy memories are. You can see some if you want!"

((ooc: LOL WHOOPS. xD Ken-chan is his canon nickname IIRC, but hell, we can take some artistic license and say Ken-nii-chan!))

Gojyo started laughing. Of course the food would come back in Goku's mind. "Damn. You've got it made, then." He looked around, as if expecting a happy memory to jump him or something and then shrugged. "Anything in particular I should touch?" But he wasn't the type to stand around and stare, so he reached out to poke a flower himself. "Happy doesn't sound too bad."

[[ooc: No worries, lol. I think that's what he really is called, but just seeing that in the game was weird. "Why the heck is Goku hugging Kenpachi? Kenpachi wasn't slated for monkey..."]]

"Yup, this place is awesome! It's got everything I need!" Grinning, he looked around a bit. "Well, pretty much anything you touch'll show you somethin'! Sometimes it'll just happen, too!"

As soon as Gojyo's fingers touched the petals, a memory began to worm its way into Gojyo's mind.

It was another cold, wintery day. With quite a bit of threatening, Sanzo had managed to make Goku dress warmly, at least for as long as it took them to walk to Gojyo and Hakkai's place. Goku ran ahead, banging his fist on the door and shouting something, earning him a knock on the head from Sanzo. Hakkai opened the door, smiling and commenting on the chill while ushering them inside.

Flash forward, and the four of them were sitting around a pot of sukiyaki. Gojyo and Goku were fighting over the last piece of meat, nearly getting into an all-out brawl until Sanzo threatened to get rid of the source of the problem. Hakkai took the last of the meat and neatly cut it into equal halves, offering Gojyo and Goku each one piece.

Gojyo laughed as he released the flower. "I remember that, stupid monkey. I can't believe it took you so much work to go out into the snow." He shook his head. "Sanzo might be a bigger threat to your food than I am, you know. He could eat it or he could shoot you, and then you won't be able to eat anything else."

He eyed the door, wondering what else he could find, and wound up heading back out to the hall. "What's behind the other doors, Monkey?"

"It's only 'cuz the snow would make everything quiet, like there really weren't any other people out there." Goku stuck his tongue out at Gojyo, and shook his head. "I dunno, I get this feelin' that Konzen's not that mean..."

Following Gojyo into the hallway, he brought a finger to his mouth in thought. "Uh, well, behind that door," he pointed to a typical temple door, "is all of the memories of Konzen--err, Sanzo." He pointed at another door, which looked suspiciously like the front door to their apartment. "'n that's you 'n Ten-nii-chan's place!" Of course, that only left one door, and Goku eyed it a little warily. "That door down there's got all the bad stuff. It's locked, but you'd probably be able to get in."

Gojyo snorted. "You haven't seen him on a grumpy day yet, then. Believe me, he'd like to shoot you some days. And me. And probably Hakkai, but he's not stupid enough to show it." Gojyo avoided making a comment about what Goku had said before, Sanzo leaving them. He didn't need to hurt the monkey.

With a nod, Gojyo studied the doors. He didn't want more priest, he knew what he and Hakkai were like, and that left the other door. "Would you mind if I looked?" Gojyo rested his hand on the door, waiting for an answer before opening. He wasn't going to barge in.

Goku flinched, but relaxed fairly quickly. "...yeah, I don't think it'll hurt nothin' if you look." He padded up behind Gojyo, nervously playing with the end of the chain around his neck. There were things in there that were better off not being seen, but he trusted Gojyo, because the Goku on the outside trusted Gojyo. Besides, Gojyo was Ken-nii-chan, too, right?

"If you can't open one of the boxes in there, that's probably stuff I can't even look at." His free hand unconsciously grabbed a fistful of Gojyo's pants. "But anything else is probably okay."

Gojyo nodded at Goku's words, and opened the door. He reached down and ruffled the littler monkey's hair. "I'll be careful not to hurt anything." He had an affection for Goku, even if he rarely showed it.

"Don't force shit. I got it. I don't think that would be nice to you, for one thing." After stepping in, he glanced around. He picked a box that didn't look too dusty, and gently tugged at one of the flaps.

Almost instantly, the box flaps unfolded themselves, enveloping the entire room in a bright light. It remained blinding for a handful of seconds, then began to fade. As it did so, it revealed that the room had transformed into a desert.

In front of the two of them was a cart in motion. Goku was on the cart, sharing words with a girl that appeared to be youkai. Without warning, she grabbed him and kissed him. Being Goku's memory, the kiss was drawn out, lasting several seconds longer than it probably had in real life. The girl withdrew and promptly shoved Goku, pushing him out of the cart. As he landed on the sand, the cart sped up and disappeared over a slight hill. A moment later, a large explosion was seen. The bright light returned, blinding for a moment, and as it faded the room had returned to normal, the box flaps folding back in on themselves.

Gojyo closed his eyes, protecting them from the burst of light. He had no desire to become blind. Blinking them open, he saw the desert. Of course it was the desert. They spent half their lives in the fucking desert.

"What the..." His eyes widened. He now had some excellent teasing material. Provided Goku wasn't hurt by that. Had it meant something? "Damn, Monkey. What was her name?"

"I don't know." Goku's hand was still tightly wound around a small area of cloth on Gojyo's leg. "She never said, but she was real nice! She wasn't bad at cooking, either!" The thought never even crossed his mind that Gojyo might tease him about something like that.

That made it sound that Goku wasn't all that connected to her. Good. "Damn, she kissed you and you're thinking about her cooking? You really are fucked up..."

The hand let go of Gojyo's pants, and a small foot kicked at his leg instead. The expression on Goku's face was none too happy. "She was a really nice person. She listened to all of Goku's stories and she cooked and everything. Goku was really upset."
