The place looked a bit like a Wutai temple, but bigger, less ornate. The place was sunny, and almost welcoming, but Vincent was not a big fan of bright sunny places, even so peaceful as this one.

But then, the outside was pretty much a field of ruins anyway. Vincent stopped and sat down on the steps to look at the city, and see if someone would come up and tell him where he was.

Goku rounded a corner in a half-jog, but almost immediately froze. Who was that? He approached with caution.

"I-I think I've seen you somewhere before...who're you?"

Vincent looked at the kid. He could recognize him as the boy who had gone on a rampage when his golden diadem had been removed, but he'd never really spoken to him. he wasn't even sure he knew his name.

"I"m Vincent," he said softly. "I don't really know why I'm here."

"Vincent, huh? You look familiar." Goku squatted down, balancing on the balls of his bare feet.

"I dunno why you're here, either. There's been a few people that've come here lately, but I dunno how or why. Is somethin' happening out there?"

"We've met, maybe once or twice," Vincent said, red eyes surveying the ruined town.

"The Animus, I think. They're sending us in other people's minds," he answered to the kid's second question.

His eyes were drawn to the chains around the boy's wrists and neck.

"What are those for ?"

The kid beamed. "Oh, so that's why so many people've been comin' here lately! Maybe I should thank the Animuses, for givin' me people to keep me company."

"These?" Goku lifted his arms, looking at the chains like he'd never seen them before. "Oh, I dunno. They put 'em on me when they took me up to see that lady, and when I met Konzen. They don't bother me, though!" He shook one wrist, making them rattle a bit, though when he set his hands back on the floor, they made a heavy 'thud' as they hit the wood.

The chains looked very heavy, but they didn't seme to slow down the kid, or, indeed, bother him too much. Still, that was strange.

"Are you feeling lonely ?"

"Yeah, it gets kinda lonely here. I got memories to watch, but those don't really keep me company." He plopped down at the edge of the walkway, looking out towards the city like Vincent was, kicking his legs like any kid with nervous energy would.

Vincent looked away att hos ewords. He'd lived with nothing but memories for so very long himself, and they were so alive to him ... and not just to him. The Lifestream could do strange things.

"I suppose I can stay for a little while ..."
