Itachi looks around the hall. A new night, a new location. He touches a wall, feels it's solidity, and considers the locked, barred door. Someone obviously doesn't want anyone going in that direction.

For now he accepts that and turns away, looking down the rest of the hallway, noting the numbered doors, the clutter on the floor.

He steps around some of the clutter, places his hands on the first door, listening... But nothing. He opens it, looks beyond.

Opening the first door would greet Itachi to a room full of glass bubbles, connected to one another. None were marked, but if you looked closely all would have something inside of them, shrouded with mist. Despite the cold look of the glass, the room itself was rather warm.

Nobody was inside the room, which for now was something of comfort, considering who owned this particular head space. But who DID own this place?

Suddenly, the door closed seemingly on its own, until a voice began to speak--the voice of a much younger Asuna.

"You do realize she won't be pleased to find you here."

Itachi looks around at the bubbles, finding them a bit curious. He steps into the room, peering into one of the mist-shrouded bubbles before the voice has him turning around.

Well that answers whose mind he's in. He looks a little amused.

"You realize I have little choice about where to appear, Asuna-chan." She's cute, as a little girl, but than he thinks she's cute as a teenager too.

All fire and fight and loyalty. It's endearing.

"And you aren't displeased?" He asks, curious about what opinion the young one has.

"I'm fine, actually." The smaller Asuna took a few steps forward, standing at Itachi's side. "I don't mind you as much as she does."

Asuna placed her hand on a bubble, feeling the smooth surface. "These are the memories from home that she remembers."

That she remembers. Catches Itachi's interest. He looks down at the small child next to him, head tilting a little.

"I see. Well then thank you for your company, Asuna-chan." He looks back at the orbs, attention divided between them and the curious young lady beside him.

"What about the memories she doesn't remember?"

"They're for me only."

Her mismatched eyes flickered up at Itachi, then back to the collection of orbs in front of them. "You probably need her to access anything in here. Would you like me to get her, Itachi?"

Itachi watches the girl, more intrigued by her attitude than her words, though they are interesting as well.

"But you remember, what she doesn't?" He pressed, curious.

"Ah, if you wish, Asuna-chan. Though I fear she may cut my visit short. May I ask what's behind the other doors?"

"Yes." Her answer was simple, but she felt she needed to speak no more about it.

"Ah, the other doors...102 is where her memories of Adstringendum are. 103 is where she is. 104 is where her power core is--don't touch it. 105 is where all the things she learned in school that she's forgotten are."

Her voice, then, darkened. "The locked door is where I was."

"Why is the door locked?" Itachi asked, watching the young Asuna with the same mild curiousity.

Locks were there for a reason after all. To keep the small Asuna in? Or to keep others out. Itachi wanted to know which. And why. He wondered if the girl would tell him, or if he'd merely be left guessing. After all, her older counter-part hated him.

And had every reason to.

"The door is locked so it can properly separate the past from the present," the child explained without hesitation, but still with the same dark tone. "When Ala Rubra split off, Takamichi used a drug to erase 20 years of memories that I had in order to help me start a new life."

Her eyes went to the ceiling. "That's her. The new one is the one that hates you. All of her memories are here."
