Summary: Matsuri has just arrived in Adstring and Gaara goes out looking for her. After finding each other, they encounter a monster. She's unharmed, and he thinks his abilities are still sealed. This can't end well.

For selfish reasons, primarily the desire to have familiar company and family around, he wouldn't mind having Temari here as well. But for the sake of his village, the young Kazekage couldn't deprive Suna of yet another shinobi. Especially ones with the skills that his siblings possessed. Matsuri wasn't the same rank as them, but regardless of that factor, she was a ninja, and she could help defend the village in her own right.
...Except that he found it strange she had come to this world unarmed. During all their training sessions together, he had long since taught her the importance of always being prepared. But then again, Matsuri mentioned being on a mission prior to her arrival, so it was possible her weapon had gotten lost. At least she had some means to defend herself, should a monster show up. Once Gaara learned of her location, concern flickered at his nerves, because she was in the dangerous area where monsters roamed. Fortunately, she wasn't far away from the safe zone, but it would have been difficult to navigate her toward there over the communication device. After all, he didn't want to risk sending her deeper into the dangerous area.
As Gaara neared the location of the coordinates she had given him, he began to glance around, looking for his former student. Drawing attention would be foolish, so he didn't intend to call out, but he needed to announce himself somehow... Silently, he cursed the Animus for sealing away his abilities, not knowing that the inhibition had been lifted some time ago.
Keeping a kunai in hand, he walked around the area, periodically looking down at the device to pinpoint Matsuri's exact location.
