Rosalie was stunned to a point were she could not really found words. Her steady pace slowed down and finally stopped. They were near the shops she had wanted to visit with him, but instead of turning towards them she turned to face Hawke once more. "All of this ... it really sounds nice. Really.", she told him in nothing more than a whisper. She was impressed and her voice at decided to work against her it seemed. "It sounds much more peaceful than the world I call home and ... this place here."

There had been many conflicts back in her world, she told him softly. Vampires were only allowed to live disquising themselves because of the Rules the Volturi, a group of Ancients, each one of them a couple of thousand years old, has set for them. If one did not obey the rules and told humans what he really was, the Volturi's guards would come after him and kill him without even listening to reason.

"My brother, Edward, had been in great danger some months ago. He ... thought that the girl he loved was dead and ... wanted to get himself killed by the Volturi." Rosalie's voice broke suddenly, tears filling her eyes and she began to sob, looking at the ground. "I ... it was my fault ... He could have died just ... because I told him Bella was dead. I believed she was dead ... Alice had foreseen it ..."

Rose continued to cry but also to talk to him, about her world. Bella was the human girl her brother had fallen in love with. Covens like her family's were rare in her world, since little vampire's were what they called civilized or vegatarians, which meant that they did not hunt humans, but lived from animals instead. Her family was one of them and consisted of herself, Edward, Jasper, Alice, her adoptive parents, Carlisle and Esme and ... Emmett. Most of her family already considered Bella being a part of them and wanted her to be turned into a vampire as she herself wished to, but ...
"She has no idea what she is willing to do. Her human self ... it will die, there won't be anything left of it.", Rosalie cried, rubbing her palms against her eyes, to stroke the tears away. "I ... I would have rather died, Hawke. I would have ... prefered to die ... instead of... living on like this creature ..."

Hawke shifted closer, automatically wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her close against his side before he even thought about what he was doing. She was in pain, and he considered her his friend, so it was only natural for him to try to comfort her. He didn't quite understand it all, other than she had been human once, and for some reason, she no longer was. A low rumble came from him, a purr or sorts that was too short for his own liking.

"Rosalie..." He had no words for her as he kept her against his side, trying to offer some form of comfort as she wept. "Were you changed to be like this against your will? What is it that you want now?"

Rosalie had not expected herself to have a mental breakdown like this, but now she was human and the emotional memories she had repictured just now had been too much for her to take. She found herself weeping at Hawke's chest shortly after, her arm locked around his torso as if she was going to collapse if he did not hold her in his arms and possibly she even would. She was sorry to cry, she hadn't wanted their meeting to change into this, she had wanted it to be fun, to have fun with him today.

"I ...", she nodded before she found the rifght words,"Carlisle had only wanted to rescue me. I ... my fiancée, Royce and his friends ... they had raped me when I was still human..." There was something inside her throat building up apperantly, something that made it difficult for her too speak. "I ... was left ... bleeding ... dying on the street by them ... and Carlisle found me and ... turned me into a Vampire to safe my life but ..." The tears flooding from her eyes seemed to increase even. "This is not the life I wanted ... I ... always wanted to be like the girls who married the man they loved and ... who had a baby with him ... who could have a baby ..." It would never be possible for her to have that will fulfilled. Vampire women could not bear children.

He held her all the tighter, pressing chaste lips to her temple as he let her cry, purring softly and speaking quietly in that strange, musical language to comfort her. He knew women who mourned their inability to have children, and he knew women who were forced against their will. For the longest time, he wondered why he knew these things, was subjected to the initial pain, and now he realized that it was to comfort others. Like this woman.

Hawke said nothing, just allowed her to speak and mourn and be more of a comforting presence than anything else. Regardless of the fact she wanted to have fun, it seemed as if she needed this grieving point more than ever.

Rosalie cried for a rather long time after her words had died away, searching comfort in her friend's arms. When she finally was able to get a grip on herself again, her chocolate brown eyes were highly reddened as she looked up at him again. She still could not forget about anything that had happened to her, not even after more than 70 years of being a vampire. She was not that strong, even though she always pretended to be.

"Just ... why had it to be me ...? Why could I not have died ...?", she asked him with a stern look on her face. "Simply died instead of this ..."

When she lifted her face up, he thumbed the tears away from her eyes, his own eyes pain filled with empathy. "I do not know." It was a simple answer, and an honest one. One could not know the will of the Ancestors. Perhaps there was a lesson Rosalie needed to learn, or teach others. No one would know until it happened.

"But know this: Whatever happens to you is for a reason, even if you do not know that reason now. When the time comes, you will."
