Summary: The anti-hero re-introduces himself to the idealist, and the story starts again.
This Billy guy told her to start put. Once it finally registered in her brain that this wasn't a dream, she sat down on a piece of large, concrete rubble and did so. Confusion and fear was still whirling around in her mind like something in a blender (like an action figure or a lighter or anything that wasn't supposed to go in there). Billy said he knew her. She didn't.

Might as well trust him. He wanted to help, after all.
