Quatre was worried about Wufei... She smoothed down her green turtleneck and headed out of the kitchen and down the hall to the room Wufei had taken.

Wufei had the blankets from both beds wrapped tightly around herself in an attempt to hide the fact that she'd become a woman. Even if no one else was in there, she didn't want to risk anyone seeing her, even herself.

She knocked on the door of Wufei's room. "Wufei?"

"Go away, Quatre," she said, grimacing at how feminine even her voice was.

"No."

Soft cursing in Chinese could be heard even through the door.

"Chang Wufei... Open this door right now."

"Not a chance, Quatre."

"Open it or I get Trowa to kick it down."

Wufei paled, holding the blankets tightly as she almost ran to the door, opening it just a crack to glare at the blonde. "You wouldn't dare."

Quatre had her arms crossed over her chest. "Try me."

She scowled, walking back to the bed while leaving the door open that amount.

The blonde slipped into the room and shut the door. "Trowa's immune to a lot of things here, even you being a woman."

"I suspect he is," Wufei said without looking at her. "Doesn't change that I don't want to be seen by anyone."

"You're being seen by me."

She shifted awkwardly. "You're in the same situation. Besides, you already saw me."

"Wufei..."

Letting go of the blankets for a second, she used her good arm to get back onto the bed before pulling them back up from where they'd fallen.

"How is your arm?"

Looking at her, she raised an eyebrow. "Broken."

She rolled her eyes.

"There haven't been any complications that I've noticed," Wufei said. She hadn't relaxed since Quatre's arrival.

Walking over, she sat down on the bed.

Wufei clutched her blankets a little tighter.

"I'm not going to bite you."

"I know."

Quatre smiled softly.

Wufei tried to return the smile, still uncomfortable with being seen.

She sighed softly.

She looked at her, careful not to stare.

Quatre looked back, obviously being as patient as ever.

"Why did you come, Quatre?"

"To check on you."

"Well, you can clearly see that I'm fine," she said quickly.

"Liar."

Wufei looked down.

"When was the last time you ate?"

"Early this morning," she said. "I figured no one else would be up yet."

"Did you eat a proper meal?"

"A sandwich and a piece of fruit."

Quatre nodded.

She shifted, clearly still shaken about the transformation and not yet used to her own body.

She sighed a bit.

"I'll be alright as soon as this is over and I'm myself again," Wufei said, half to convince herself of the fact.

"You promise?"

She looked up at Quatre, unable to make any such promise.

"I don't like seeing you be so depressed."

"I've never been that cheerful of a person, Quatre." A small smirk made it onto her face. "I leave that up to you and Maxwell."

"I can't always smile Wufei."

"Never expected you to."

She looked down.

Wufei brought her legs up to her chest, trying to hide more despite the futility of the act.

"I'm not going to tease you."

"Thank you."

"And neither would Duo."

She nodded, smiling a little. "I know. We promised."

"Good."

She let go of the blankets, letting them fall from her shoulders.

Quatre smiled.

"It's wrong."

"I know."

Wufei glanced at her before looking away.

"It's only a week."

"Too long." She didn't like how vulnerable it had made her, and more than just physically.

"And before you start blabbering about how women have to many emotions... My emotional vulnerability hasn't changed."

She snorted. "I don't 'blabber.'"

"Sometimes you do." Quatre replied.

Wufei shot a glare at her.

"What?" she asked innocently.

"I. Do. Not. Blabber," she repeated, stressing each word.

Quatre laughed.

She reached her arm out to swat at the blonde.

She grabbed Wufei's hand.

Wufei tried to pull her hand back from the other woman.

The blonde held it tight.

She stopped tugging, at Quatre. "What are you doing?"

She just grinned innocently.

She didn't trust that grin one bit.

Quatre let Wufei's hand go.

Wufei pulled it close to her, crossing the arm over her chest.

"Look at it this way, you're not as busty as I am or Duo was."

She blushed, trying to hide her chest. She didn't want to think of the changes at all, not even in comparison.

Quatre laughed.

"It's not funny!"

"So?"

"So I don't want to think about it."

"There's a video of you on the network."

She buried her face, blush intensifying. "I know..."

Quatre sighed.

"It's embarrassing," Wufei said without lifting her head.

"I was embarrassed to."

She nodded.

"It fades."

"Ask me in a year if it's faded yet."

"I've been here nearly a year..."

Wufei sighed.

She looked down, her eyes becoming distant.

She moved a bit closer, laying her hand on Quatre's shoulder. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."

"I would have probably given into my despair and killed myself if not for Duo."

She squeezed her shoulder a bit.

"It's been rough."

Wufei nodded, sitting down near her.

Quatre sighed.

She tucked her legs up, quiet.

The blonde said nothing.

Glancing at her, Wufei resting her head on her knees.

Quatre sniffed a bit.

She reach out to rub the blonde's back.

Moving, she edged close to Wufei.

She let her. Moving away would just upset Quatre more.

She snuggled close.

Wufei stiffened a little.

Quatre quickly pulled away.

"No, it's alright," she said softly, forcing herself to relax.

"No it's not."

Wufei glanced at her.

"You don't like people being close."

She looked down. "I don't mind you being close."

She glanced at Wufei.

"I trust you."

"Sometimes it doesn't feel like it."

"I-," she sighed. "I'm not a trusting person."

"Everyone might as well not trust me. I'm not a good person obviously."

Wufei shot her a look. "Never say that again."

"I can't get anyone to trust in me here... Sometimes I don't even think I can trust myself. Half the time I think it would be better if I just left..."

She grabbed the blonde's arm, glaring at her. "Quatre, I never want to hear you saying that every again. I trust you, the other pilots trust you. And never think that we would be better without you!"

"What have I done?!" she exploded, "Nothing! I can't do anything to help repair this god forsaken building or even bring some resemblance of sanity to this chaos driven world!{

Raising her hand, Wufei slapped her.

Quatre stared at Wufei. She brought her hand to her cheek, pressing her chilled fingers to the hot skin. "Wufei..."

"You saved my life," she said, staring right back.

She shook her head.

"You did," Wufei said. "And you've done so much more than throughout the war. Even here, you've helped keep the others sane. Never doubt your worth, Quatre."

"Why not when my worth is constantly in the air?"

She pulled the blonde close, hugging her tightly. "Never."

Quatre stiffened and then fell against Wufei, burying her face in the Chinese woman's shoulder.

Wufei ran her hand over Quatre's hair.

She began to cry softly, clinging to the other.

"We need you, Quatre, always will."

"Sometimes I forget it."

"Then you need to believe us when we remind you," she said, holding her.

She nodded.

Wufei pulled back a little, brushing a hand over her cheek. "Will you be alright now?"

Quatre nodded. "Yes. I needed that."

She smiled slightly.

She smiled back

Nodding, he took her hand back.

Quatre sighed.

Wufei echoed the sound.

"I'm sorry."

"Why are you apologizing?" she asked. "I'm the one who made you upset."

"I don't know."

She looked down, moving to scoot away again.

"Don't..." she whimpered.

Freezing, she looked back at her.

Quatre moved, snuggling close to Wufei.

Wufei tried not to stiffen this time.

She smiled, relaxing.

She blushed a little at the proximity.

Quatre closed her eyes.

She blinked. "Quatre?"

"Hm?"

"Don't fall asleep on me now."

"Why not?"

"If I'm going to have company right now, I'd rather it be awake," she said.

Quatre made a noise of protest.

Wufei nudged her.

"What?" she whined.

"Fall asleep and I move onto the other bed," she said.

She pouted but moved to sit up.

Wufei smiled, wrapping her blanket around Quatre's shoulders as well.

"Thank you."

She nodded.

Quatre snuggled close.

"How did you survive through this the first time around?" she asked, refering to the change from male to female.

"I had Trowa."

"Ah."

"That was fun."

Blushing, Wufei tried to block the thoughts that statement drew up.

"What?"

She shook her head, looking away.

Quatre blinked.

"It's nothing," she said quickly.

"Okay."

Wufei curled up a bit.

Quatre yawned a bit.

She sighed.

"What?"

"Just waiting for this nightmare to be over," Wufei said, covering her chest with her arm.

"I know."

"If she could only see me now..." she whispered.

"Who?"

"Nataku..."

"Your Gundam?"

The Chinese woman looked at her, shaking her head.

"Who then?"

"My wife."

"Oh..."

She smiled slightly, eyes dropping. "I'd never live it down."

She chuckled.

"She'd be taller than me for one."

"Trowa's still taller than all of us."

"Trowa's always been taller," she reminded the other woman.

"You're taller than Duo."

Wufei looked at her flatly. "I'm taller than a child. Lovely."

Quatre laughed.

She poked Quatre in the side.

The blonde jumped, squeaking.

It was her turn to laugh.

"Wufei!"

"Yes, Quatre?"

"Don't do that."

"Why not?" she asked. "You have."

"It tickles!"

Wufei smirked. "Does it?"

Quatre frowned and scooted away.

She chuckled at the blonde. "Fine, fine, I won't do it again. For now."

"Better not."

"I won't."

"Good."

Wufei smiled, shaking her head. "At least I didn't actually tickle you."

She nodded. "I should go find Trowa."

"He's probably missing you," she said, reclaiming her blanket.

Quatre smiled at Wufei.

Wufei returned the smile.
