She refused to let this get the better of her. Or rather, she refused to let Ichigo get the better of her, because he could be just so frustrating. Frustrating in that 'it's my job to save everyone' way that bothered her so much about Sousuke. Stupid Sousuke for not being here, stupid Sousuke for leaving in the first place. She clenched her fist at the memory, but refused to let it bother her.

Pulling more resolve, Kaname all but stomped down the street, determined to gather enough supplies to move out of that clinic that Ichigo had talked her into. She didn't want to just rely on the kindness of others. After all, she had lived on her own in Tokyo (with a little help, but she wasn't going to get into that) so she could do it here too.

Stuck in her own thoughts, the tip of her shoe got caught in the broken pavement, drawing a squeak from Kaname as she tumbled rather ungracefully forward, hissing more in anger than pain as she skinned her knee. Grumbling, she pushed herself into a sitting position, rubbing her skin.

"Stupid sidewalk

At the sound of someone stomping down the street, Sion looked down at the pavement below, tilting her head to the side curiously at the young woman storming along. She was curious as to why someone would be so angry (and on top of that, it was someone she had not yet seen) and quietly snaked Etherlight down to the ground, pausing when Kaname tripped, and moving quickly again once she was seated.

The tiny wire attached to the back of Kaname's head, barely rustling a single hair as Sion began to gather information. It was a process that took mere seconds as Sion began reading the woman's memories and feelings, carefully keeping her own memories and emotions separate.

Whispered... Black Technology... Mithril... stupid Sousuke Sagara...Etherlight was disconnected just as quickly and silently zipped back upward as Sion looked downward, her head tilting again in fascination. While she could download and process information and memories from other and become familiar with them as if they were her very own, without any additional studying ( ... )

It was stupid, all so stupid. Ignoring the slight sting, Kaname pushed herself to her feet, wiping the dirt and grime from her legs the best she could. Trying to regain some sense of dignity, she looked around to make sure no one had seen, catching a glance of the top of a building in the corner of her eye. She paused for a second, swearing she saw someone up there, but ignoring it was always the best policy. Enough weird shit had happened to her.

Resuming her walk, Kaname made her way down the block, pausing as she peered through the broken window of an old convenience store. Stretching in, she was able to grab what looked like a can of some old tomato soup, but that was better than nothing. Looking around, she grabbed one of the curtains and ripped it down, turning it into a make-shift sack for her little shopping spree.

"Alright, got one thing more than he has! It has to get better from here," she said to boost her own morale, even if she didn't really believe it.

Sion remained seated on the top of the building and calmly watched the blue-haired girl walk off. She waited until enough space to follow and observe from without being noticed (yet still remain close enough to not lose sight) had opened up before moving across the rooftops, moving quietly as possible down a rusty fire escape when buildings gave way to open space.

"Simple observation will provide the best analysis at this point," Sion thought to herself as she hugged walls and maintained the safe distance between the two of them. Watching Kaname stop in front of an old convenience store, she quirked her head. With no currency or any state of order, looting was a common occurrence and the easiest way of obtaining supplies, so naturally it was nothing wrong or even unusual.

At Kaname's words, Sion gave the tiniest of smiles. What an interesting person.

There was a creak somewhat muffled, causing Kaname to turn and look over her shoulder. Blue brows knitted together in concern, but she didn't see anyone. Odd. It had sounded almost rusty, but nothing seemed to follow. It was a slight comfort, despite the fact she felt like she was being watched. Turning a glance towards that building now a bit off in the distance, she didn't see any figure there. Maybe she was just seeing things ( ... )

Sion blinked slowly at the sudden display of anger, her head tilting to the side. It was something she'd seen through the memories, but to see it in person... she gave a quiet chuckle. It was an odd variable, one she had not expected, but it would be one to work around. After all, in anger, one was less likely to think as clearly.

She crept forward a little more to observe the unfolding scene, freezing when her shoe knocked against a can, causing it to rattle and roll slightly.

That was definitely a noise. Foot poised to give the mail box another kick, Kaname froze in place, knowing she definitely heard something. Slowly, she looked back over her shoulder, and there was definitely a person. Swinging around with the bag still slung over her shoulder, the girl acquired a defensive pose and a hard, but unsure gaze, wanting the other to know she had no problems defending herself and didn't appreciate being snuck up on.

"You--I thought I heard something!" she accused, as was often her quickest reaction to many situations. "You're following me! I saw you on the roof!"

Sion gave a small sigh as she stepped out, her shoe crunching the can into the ground as she walked down. She adopted a relaxed position as she faced the young woman, her expression contemplative and quite calm.

"My apologies, Miss Chidori, I did not mean to startle you, though yes, I do admit I was observing you. You are an intriguing person and I would like to ask you several questions."

That didn't make her feel any better. Her uncertainty resembling a deeper frown, Kaname pulled back a bit, gaze hardening. She knows my name and everything... That was just a little more than creepy. How long had this chick been watching her? Hours? Days?

"...Look, I don't like to indulge stalkers, okay?"

Sion gave a small frown at the accusation of being a stalker, though it was hardly incorrect; though it'd only been for a few minutes, she had been watching and following Kaname around and had invaded her memories as well, though that was something the other woman did not yet know.

"...My apologies, I did not mean to startle you by approaching so quickly. My name is Sion Eltnam Atlasia. I am curious about you and the knowledge you posses. You are a... Whispered, I believe is the term?"

Despite her attempts to allay Kaname's fears, it was likely Sion was only making herself look even more suspicious.

Brown eyes just stared, incredulous. That was a word that held a lot of weight, and not something she took lightly from a stranger. How in the world she would know that about Kaname was beyond her, unless she was a Whispered herself, but Kaname didn't feel like being all buddy-buddy with someone who appeared to be following her and now wanted answers to questions she had no right in asking.

Fine fingers tightened on the fabric of her make-shift sack and her muscles tensed. "...I have no idea what you're talking about," she chose to lie instead, trying to wave it off. "Look, Sion Ethel...--whatever, I'm just trying to get some dinner. That's all."

Sion gave an irritated tap to her forehead, her brow furrowing slightly. She should have guessed from the short temper getting any information would not be easy. With a long exhale, she straightened up and took a step forward.

"Your expression says otherwise and what I've learned from Etherlight says you're lying. I do not want to have to use force against you if I have no reason to. I would simply like an understanding of what I've learned. It's possible the knowledge you possess may serve as a means of getting out of here."

Okay, that was irritating. She didn't like the sound of this 'Etherlight', whatever it was, if it somehow gave the other woman information. Like a mind reading device, maybe? Or maybe she knew more about the Whispered then she was letting on? The latter was more probable, but Kaname didn't want to take any chances.

"Don't you think that if I knew how to get out of here, I would do something about it?" she said, voice dripping with annoyance as her left brow twitched. "Look, I don't know how you know what you know, but it's none of your business!"

"Yes, I'm certain if you knew a method of getting home, you would have done so already, or attempted to do so," Sion replied calmly in that annoyingly matter-of-fact way.

"After all, do you not want to return to your boyfriend Sousuke Sagara?"

Whoever this woman thought she was, well, she had another thing coming. Kaname was anything but a pushover and was not going to back down easily and give in. But the second Sion mentioned Sousuke, an expression of hurt flashed across her face, before a tinge of pink and a dangerous glare.

"How the--why di--HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" she screamed, giving another kick to the mailbox out of anger, and this time, watching it give in to her frustrations with a loud rusty creak as it fell over to one side. She was breathing heavily, clearly not happy.

Sion watched the mailbox fall over, a look of surprise crossing over her face. Had her analysis been incorrect? The feeling of affection had been there in the memories, but there had also been frustration and open signs of aggression and violence toward the young man.

The alchemist closed her eyes as she analyzed things once more. Certainly, Kaname was not an ordinary human in that she possessed innate knowledge of "black technology", but she was quite normal and ordinary in all other aspects. Yes, by all accounts, Kaname was a normal high school student who simply had extraordinary abilities, not someone with extraordinary abilities who happened to be a high school student.

"...My apologies, I said things I should have not have said," Sion remarked in a quick reversal, giving a curt bow. "I will leave you be now."
