A cry escaped Natsuki's lips as she perceived her friend lying on the ground a few metres away. Half lying, half sitting herself, she abruptly scrambled to her feet, staggering slightly when nausea overtook her and the recollection of what had happened came slowly back to her with a dull headache.
A SLAVE had suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere appeared on the school grounds, heading straight for the main building.
Shizuru had immediately set out to stop it in its tracks, and Natsuki had followed, out of a sudden impulse, a vague presentiment. It would have been only one of many, countless fights with those artificial creatures; one could say it was almost something like a routine, for herself and even more so for the Graceful Amethyst - a matter of a few seconds only, the fight already over before it had really begun. And yet, something had alarmed her, had made her rush out, to her friend's side.
Shizuru had already engaged the SLAVE in battle when she had reached them, the older Meister about to attack when, suddenly, in the blink of a second, everything had turned to havoc.
The mechanic creature had abruptly moved - no, rather had been moved - had in a flash shifted towards and past them, and she remembered the sound of Shizuru's surprised and pained outcry when she got hit by the SLAVE's armour, just before the being had simply disappeared.
The image of Shizuru falling down to the ground was still burnt into her mind, and how she had lunged towards her, wanting to catch her, when something had taken hold of her, her insides feeling as if being squeezed by a giant hand, almost fainting as the pressure was building up and the blood throbbing in her ears.
And then, suddenly, it was gone, and she was... here... in a desolated place that was not the school or Windblooom and yet... it was as if her surroundings held a faint familiarity.
Natsuki's shortly diverted attention abruptly snapped back to Shizuru, when she saw how her friend was trying to get up and weakly sunk back to the ground again.
She started to run towards her, closing the distance in no time, kneeling down beside her. "Shizuru!" she uttered hoarsely, her worried eyes running over the other's slumped form, widening at the sight of the gash in her torso, the long, dark red streak shining through the cut in her robe, the torn purple fabric dark and wet from the blood.
A wave of panic was surging through her and her eyes darted back to her friend's face that was so pale, a sheen of sweat covering the ashen skin. Shizuru's gaze turned to her as she leaned closer, but the usually so vivid and brilliant crimson eyes seemed dim and clouded, so that Natsuki wondered if she was even seeing her. "Shizuru," she repeated urgently, her hand reaching out to touch the wan cheek.

oh and btw...that was a good reply...you need to give yourself more credit ^.^
Shizuru heard her name fuzzily, as if called from a great distance, but couldn't confirm it as her eyes had shut. Shizuru put it together though that the green was indeed Natsuki - her Natsuki had come to save her... The thought made her smile inside, but she couldn't really force her muscles to respond in kind, unable to let Natsuki know she was still alive.
Oh dear, she really must be hurt, it was very unlike her to get so wounded from a simple SLAVE, but then again, she knew that this time it wasn't per say the SLAVE. Something had happened, and she wanted to know what. The feel of Natsuki's hand slowly brought her back from the depths of her mind to the present. Natsuki was calling her, she had to respond and open her eyes.
"Na..tsu.." Shizuru tried to call out to tell her little wolf-chan she was fine, a bit of a lie, but to her consternation she couldn't quite do it. Though in her opinion, Natsu sounded really cute as well.... When her eyes finally opened all the way focusing as Natsuki put pressure on her wound, she was able to get that smile in she tried before. A beautiful full smile that she was known for as the Graceful Amethyst - a smile that finally did let Natsuki know she'd be alright.

The dark-haired woman's worried gaze rested on her friend's solemn face, hoping for a response, a sign, but Shizuru remained still, and with her eyes now closed, one could almost think she was sleeping, had there not been an air of tenseness to her features.
Carefully, softly, Natsuki touched the brunette's face, caressing the cold cheek in her hand, cupping it, while keeping her gaze set on her closed eyes, and a flutter of hope stirred in her chest when she felt the other slightly lean into her touch.
Or was it just an imagination born from her desperate wish for a response, a sign of recognition?
No, it wasn't - Shizuru had noticed her presence, and, as if hypnotised, Natsuki watched how her lips moved, slowly parting as she was trying to call out for her.
Although it was strained and weak, Natsuki was relieved to hear her voice. "I'm here," she answered hoarsely, her thumb reassuringly, lightly, stroking her cheek. "Everything will be alright," she added, with more certainty than she actually possessed; but saying it out loud did hold some comfort and made it easier to believe it was true.
One last stroke of her thumb, and she let her hand glide down, giving her friend's shoulder a reassuring squeeze before turning her attention to the wound she should have probably taken care of earlier.
Carefully feeling with her fingers, she tried to move the torn cloth partly concealing the injury away to get a better look at it, but it was hard to tell how deep it really was, and she feared that whatever she might do would just lead to further irritation of the wound and more bleeding.
She felt Shizuru twitch under her touch and sent a worried look up to her, but was relieved to see her eyes open. She leaned closer, and when she saw the smile on her friend's lips, she responded with her own. "Everything will be alright," she whispered again, this time believing it, and her hands quickly went up to her shoulders, deftly opening the clasps of her cape.
[OOC: Have no better idea than using the cape as bandage, and am also a bit unsure whose to take... Taking Shizuru's would probably be easier, but I fear it will disappear ;)]

"Ara, is Natsuki trying to undress me?" Shizuru said weakly her smile fading from lack of strength, but still as luminescent as ever. Of all the things an injured person would put their effort to, teasing didn't really come to mind - unless your name was Shizuru Viola and teasing was an actual art to you.
Conjuring different shades of pink, purple and red was something Shizuru spent ridiculous amount of time trying to accomplish, and to her, there wasn't much more important. Perhaps Natsuki herself, but as the two were connected so Shizuru didn't count it much. Though the good thing was if she was teasing, she must not be too close to death, right?
"I always..." Shizuru had to stop and take a calming breath as some pain flitted through her midsection, but continued after it as if nothing had happened, ever the Graceful Amethyst, "knew that my...Natsuki...wanted me..."

But if there had ever been something like real anger, it was faster gone than it had welled up, and the frown disappearing. "Don't talk such nonsense," she murmured under her breath, unhappy looking in her companion's face. Don't think I don't see how much you are in pain, Shizuru. You would be surprised to know how well I've learnt to read you, to see past your smiles.
Natsuki carefully put an arm under Shizuru's upper body, lifting it up just enough to allow her to wrap the cape around her waist, trying to apply the makeshift bandage as tight as she could, while her mind was still elsewhere. Why is it that you always have to put on an act, always hiding behind your smiles, even when you're with me?
Slightly shaking her head, the dark-haired woman chased her unhappy thoughts away. This was not important now. The only thing that was, was to take care of her wound. But it was just too obvious that her own means to do so were far too limited, the injury had to be treated professionally.
Natsuki send a thoughtful glance over to what appeared to be the ruins of a city.

Shizuru watched in satisfaction as the aforementioned shades tracked their way across Natsuki's face, but quickly they faded. Shizuru easily saw the look of thinly veiled worry in Natsuki's bright green eyes, and for a second she was pinned. Pinned by the weight of that probing mask shattering look, and pinned by the hope that it meant something. Shizuru quickly buried the second thought; Natsuki had ignored her advances in blatant refusals, she had made clear there was no such care between them.
Sighing silently Shizuru wondered what Natsuki saw when she looked in her eyes; did she discover the hope that the brunette had presently buried? Perhaps that was the cause of Natsuki's sudden drop in gaze, and here she was yet again, spending obscene amounts of time obsessing over the meaning of her friend's actions. Emphasis on the "friend" part.
Tearing her mind away from her long winded tangent thoughts Shizuru followed Natsuki's turned gaze and lit upon that which the ebony haired woman was regarding. A city. Yes, a city would be a good place for them to head to, Shizuru knew her body well enough to know that her wound was not something she nor Natsuki could manage alone.
"We'll need to move there quickly," Shizuru finally volunteered catching Natsuki's attention with her slightly shaking voice, "I'll need some...assistance soon..."

On hearing Shizuru's voice, Natsuki quickly turned her gaze back to her friend, nodding. "Yes," she said, "going there is probably the best we can do now." Glancing over to the city again, she added, "We will find help there."
If not there, then I don't know where.
But no, she mustn't think like this. Of course they would find help - they had to. Everything would be alright.
Repeating her mantra over and over again in her head, she gave Shizuru a small smile. "Just hold on a bit longer," she whispered, "we'll find someone who can help you, soon." And carefully, Natsuki reached under the brunette's back and knees, gently lifting her up.
Shizuru in her arms, she turned to the city, regarding the dark silhouettes before them with a burning determination.
