Let the madness begin.
It was very early morning when Itachi woke up feeling like he was missing something. All his senses felt stuffed with cotton. Dulled. Muted. Reacting more on instinct than thought he activated his sharingan--only to find that he couldn't. He could see, yes, in that slightly fuzzy way his normal vision had. But he could not access his chakra.
No, more to the point, there was no chakra to access.
Well. Wasn't that peachy?
Most of the household was still asleep when Itachi slipped out of bed and got dressed, considering what to do. He had no genjutsu, no jutsu at all. He wasn't helpless, by any means, but he certainly wasn't going to be seeking any fights soon.
Itachi padded downstairs, glancing at the couch where Michael slept. Weird that he was almost fond of the foul-mouthed psychopath already. Itachi decided he possibly just had a soft spot for brats.
For a while Itachi considered leaving while everyone was still asleep. He could just quietly slip out. Something, however, held him back, and finally he entered the kitchen and began rummaging around in the cupboards, getting out the necessary items to begin making breakfast for the whole household. It wasn't a great move, not with Kakashi in the house, not with no genjutsu to disguise the pale, sickly cast of his skin and the too-bright sheen of his eyes, but then again... It wasn't as if it weren't general knowledge that he was sick. And Itachi would rather face Kakashi here, in the house, then wait and encounter the Jounin later without warning. Itachi was not counting on mercy, but at least in the household Kakashi was less likely to pounce on a sign of weakness. And of Itachi's options, the Uchiha refused to retreat like a dog with his tail between his legs.
So he started mixing up the pancake batter. It'd be a western style breakfast; pancakes and omelets.
