THE STORY
It was the year 2008 when it happened...
A certain group in the scientific community was taking that step forward into the future, aspiring to attain the answer to the universe that we all have sought for thousands of years. The Unified Universe Project was put into action, and that summer the group behind it was to reveal their miraculous invention: the Equator.
As the name states, it was to derive the equation that would answer everything, give the key to the universe and all within it.
A complicated project, years in planning, a product of their hopes and dreams. July 29th, 2008, with billions of people across the world watching a live broadcast, their ideas were put to the test, and the machine was activated.
And it could not have gone more wrong.
An equation it did derive, but not to their liking. Bits of the special universe began to expand and collapse, and the space-time that held reality together collapsed, caving and distorting the world into something no one recognized. At least...as a whole.
For those that survived, the world they found themselves in was familiar and strange at the same time. Creatures and beings thought never to exist outside of the imagination were suddenly real. The Unified Universe Project sought to explain the mystery, and began to realize that it was no, in fact, that the universe had collapsed or broken in...
...It was that time itself had compressed, and the fluctuations of the every changing and growing universe were pressed into one point, bringing into existence things long gone and things to come. Peoples from different worlds and different times, billions of years and different universe collapses and rebirths apart, all in the same place.
While all the new groups of beings find themselves together, the Unified Universe Project is determined to try and reverse the effects, and return space and time to their normal states. While the confused wander the broken mishmash of landscapes, some beings do not take lightly to have their existence so altered...
...and plan to make this known to everyone.

THE PREMISE
The game begins after the Time Compression, where all worlds have been squished into one. The landscape is that of destroyed cities and often discolored forests, fields, and the ever changing sky. It looks like a constant battle of one reality trying to overtake the other, but never quite making it. As time continues to squeeze into one single reality, people are knocked out, only to find themselves woken up in the strange new place.
Each series/game/movie/book/show will be taken as a separate universe that has been/is being compressed. Characters will arrive as their world becomes assimilated. Because it is not only space, but time that is compressed, even characters from the same world may find themselves coming into contact with someone they know that seems to be from their future or past. (You can take a character from any point in their series).
While the Unified Universe Project works to reverse the problem, in the meantime they have developed a Palm Pilot-like device that people all over can use to keep updated on the state of the project and to communicate with each other. However, in their efforts to fix their mistake, the Project seems to make more, causing the world to change even more. The Spirits take their chances as well to take out their anger on the people by messing with their times, genetic make-up, and more.
