i dreamt that i was on a pirate ship. i think our colours were grey, white and the black pirate flag. i had a manual in front of me that was supposed to tell me what colours were whom. we were sailing and on the look out for enemy pirate ships. i kept trying to find the colours of one boat in the manual but never managed to. meanwhile, our ship swerved a full 180 degrees and i was amazed at how maneuverable she was. we did that to avoid another ship. in doing so we were hurtling towards a crag until the captain steered us just shy of it. everything swayed and i thought it must be like being on a motorbike, maybe. but i've never been on pirate ships nor motorbikes. then we turned in the opposite direction again, and went through a bottleneck between a crag and a pothole, and raced forward before the other pirate ship could catch up with us.
i don't think anyone said it to me explicitly in the dream but at the back of my mind was the thought that we have no ammunition, and so we have to be super cautious about encountering unfriendly ships. we would only survive through speed or bluff. not long after, we met another ship. i think we crashed into them by mistake and they were kind of bummed out. i think they were just starting out as pirates and now they had to repair their ship. i think we sustained some damage too. and we both had to pay a 6.5 pound fine (to whom? i don't know) and my mom told me not to be so smug because of that. i wasn't being smug, though. i was being distracted by the cute boys aboard that other ship.
and then i woke up and my body ached from tossing around in bed.
