I am alive and well. I moved to Manchester with the missus last year in June and we've already got itchy feet. It was finally good to move away from Scunthorpe and coming here has made me realise there's more I should be doing. I'm kinda doing the career thing at the moment and that's good, I'm getting decent experience.
We've had such a messed up 2007. Lost 2 cars, C's dad had a heart attack, C had to move in to my parents involuntarily, C had to then complete her final year at uni (which she did brilliantly), C accused of plagarism (which was bullshit because I was with her around 99% of the time she was doing her uni work - she was later cleared, we watched my grandad have a back problem in January - by May he was rushed to hospital and died within 3 weeks. He had an incredible aggressive cancer that spread to almost every major organ and we watched him decline each day until his death. We also moved amidst a flood and C's grandad has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. 2007 was simply mad.
Now as I'm approaching 25 this year, I've decided to create a list of things to do before I'm 30. So far this includes: Bunjee jump, learn a new language (either Italian of German) and to do the bull run at Pamplona, Spain. It's a work in progress and I'll hopefully add to it.
However, next year Me and C have plans to go to South Africa and work for three months on an animal sanctuary. It was quite a revelationary moment. She was told about it by a new mate at her job who's already been over and done it. She's a person who's very goal oriented and she hasn't had one since completing her degree then moving to Mancs. When she then told me about it I was in complete love with the idea. It just sounds incredible. I can't wait. I adore animals and I don't know when I'd get the chance to get that kind of experience elsewhere at another time.
Sorry for the epic, just excited and full of thoughts. Hopefully I can be in touch more often.
