I'm sick =( My body is suffering but my spirit is enjoying the down time. Josh and I have been loving our vacation from school. We have been gaming like crazy and spending hours watching anime and just sitting together talking. Our six year anniversary has come and gone and we still haven't gone out to celebrate. We were thinking about going to the Baghdad this weekend for beer, pizza and a movie.
My room is totally different then it was a few weeks ago. I dug out my wall decorations from my old studio apartment at my grandparents house and I have been having fun making my room feel more personalized. We have a new bed, a second computer and a second desk in here now. The second computer is so freaking awesome to have! Josh and I no longer have to share a computer. We can sit and do homework at the same time and we can game together all we want now instead of taking turns.
Josh and his brother Scott are going to be joining me at PSU winter term. It will be nice to have them on campus with me because I won't be so alone all the time. They both have a few years before they finish their degrees. I only have two terms left of school before I am finally done with my BS in psychology. I have decided to get another Bachelors degree in literature before I decide what I want to study in grad school. I'm not going to be getting the second degree at PSU. I'm thinking a lit degree will be easily achieved at a school where I can take primarily on line classes. This will save me from the social problems I have endured at PSU. While I'm studying for my lit degree I want to try to get some of my writing published. I think the lifestyle of a writer could suite my reclusive personality well, don't you?
The holidays have past and I had a great time with my family. My step mom who is a strict Christian actually made Kahlua for my boyfriend and my sister's boyfriends/husbands; Josh, Brad, Bobby and Greg. My dad splurged and bought each of my sisters and I a silver charm bracelet with a pretty heart and a tiny diamond on each one. Rumors are, it cost him over $500 to buy them for all eight of us girls. Unlike my sisters who were raised in varying situations, I was raised alone in my grandparents home with my disabled mom so I am actually much closer to my grandfather then to my dad. I got my grandfather a great book for Christmas, “Masterpieces of World Philosophy.” I wrote a little tribute to him inside the cover, telling him that he was my first philosophy teacher and that I will cherish our long theoretical discussions forever. I mean the man introduced me to Descartes when I was seven! Most people don't start exploring philosophy until college. When I was a child, he loved to present me with all kinds of ideas just to see how I would digest the different philosophical and theoretical concepts. We spent many nights bonding while discussing philosophy.
New years was really fun. I love the fact that two of my sisters have integrated themselves into my friend group. It was inevitable that Maggy would since the two of us have always been so close but I never expected that my step sister Jessica would end up dating and then living with Brad, who has been in our friend group for over 10 years. This means she comes to all the regular social functions we have and that she and I have developed a much closer bond.
Anyway, that's the update for now. I send my love to you all and hope that this year brings good things.
