Car Free Is A Fun Way To Be
every car a murder, every bike a love affair

carfreepirates, for the discerning car free bike pirate who believes in the virtues of low-ecological impact transportation and lifestyles.
The community welcomes all who have cut the habit of going to the gas station out of their lives and have taken a step into a slower and arguably more enjoyable mode of life. While the act of selling the car (or never getting the license to begin with!) is great, there are still so many hurtles to jump over in the effort to lessen CO2 output and kick the addiction of oil. (Slogans should not be used in lieu of intellectual thought, justification, or action!)
In this community you are invited to;
*discuss bicycles and bike advocacy
*discuss light rail advocacy to divert money away from paving new roads and highways (living next to the highway is awful for communities!)
*entertain thoughtful discussions about Critical Mass (critical and positive)
*discuss and share ideas to tackle Global Warming
*discuss the foolishness of the Hybrid, Biodiesel, & Hydrogen movements.
*share tips on how to GoLocal (1, 2)
*enjoy the trials and tribulations of gardening (rip out that grass or build those potters it's time to grow your own food!)
*share ideas on how to subvert the sprawling trucking and shipping industries
*use this community to discuss gift economies through Really Free Markets
*freegan love!
*share arts and crafts skills (whether found objectry from your block, reclaimed textiles, painting with plant based colors or anything else!)
*share andy singer cartoons
*share atrocites commited by cars (bicyclists deaths, driver road rage, etc.) or just rant about the driver that just cut you off on your way home!
