Still selling your desk? I realize this post has no wit/humor value for anyone viewing it (sorry folks), but I'd love to have one 'o those BioMorphs. Let me know -- thanks!

yeah! i've tried elsewhere to get rid of it, but it's been GROWING on me (so now i want to keep it but might not be able to) and now it just depends on where you live to get it there. several people wanted it, but lived in arkansas or NY. the price was slightly adjusted for my lj friends. here's my original craigslist ad:
I'm doing a little bit of redecorating! I need to find a good home for a lot of things including my Biomorph Interactive Desk worth over $1,600 that was purchased just last year! i want to ask less than half of what i paid (which would be asking around $750usd), but the price is very negotiable because i NEED it to leave my house

I could see where you'd get attached to that desk. I worked for a dot com incubator / development firm a couple years back and the lucky staff there (me included) got Biomorph desks and Aeron chairs. I swear I've never been so comfy in front of a computer, before or since.
So, I'm attempting to recreate my workstation in my house. I just bought an Aeron chair last week. Next on the list -- the desk! Well, if the shipping isn't too killer, anyway.
Speaking of which: you're right about the weight of these things. They are *way* heavy. Shipping that desk would be a bit of a pain and could be downright cost-prohibitive depending on the distance. I'm in Maryland near Washington, DC -- where are you?

Oops, please forgive the gaffe: I just looked in your userinfo. I'm not a LJ user (though I'm pondering it) so I didn't know to look there. Sorry!
You're in CA or so it says, so guess you're prolly not into shipping something so big 'n' heavy across country. And, since it would prolly be $200+ to do it, I don't think it would make sense for me either. Bummer.
Thanks for the earlier reply though. Enjoy that desk. :)

sorry about being out of the loop for a bit - i was sick. if you want to be a user, let me know by commenting when you decide. i can provide you with a code if you need one.
and it very well might be possible for me to ship the desk, as i could be making a cross-country trip and/or moving that way soon. if you read this, let me know so i can maybe work something out if possible.

Mmm... Sorry to hear you've been sick. Anything that would keep you from your PC must have been quite unpleasant (as if being sick were ever a walk in the park). Glad to hear you're feeling better, though.
I would love to be a LJ user: Thank you so much for the invitation! I spend a lot of time here every day reading -- likely more than I should -- and I would love to be part of the community. Could you email me the code? The best addy to use would be atlantascoutfan [atsymbol] hotmail [period] com. (I hate having to munge addresses.)
As for the desk: If there's a way for you to get it here without much hassle or expense I would *definitely* buy the desk from you. When might you be out this way and/or where might you be moving? Sounds like an adventure is in the works. :)

yes, it was downright horrible. it keeping me from my computer was just the tip of the badness! but thank you, the world is grand now. except my nose won't stop whistling.
and sure... it's on its way!
actually, it's all a "serious maybe" as of now, since i'm not exactly sure if i'm moving at all. i KNOW for a fact i'm visiting NC in late january (puppy retrieval venture) but it's going to be an expensive trip as it is. however, i might be able to talk my company (my dogs and my mother) into making a detour. i'll let you know what gets worked out and if i can do anything to get my desk to you! how long are you willing to wait for info? i'll try not to have you in the dark too long.

Nose whistling? Well, I guess that's better than snoring. I went camping once and the kid in the tent next to mine thought there was a bear outside. Hee hee.
Re. the desk: There's no hurry, really, so take your time. In fact, after the holidays would be really good for me: That would give me time to butter up my folks to buy the desk for me as a Christmas present. (!) After all, the only thing better than new furniture is new furniture someone *else* pays for, right?
::/me scraps plans to ask for new sofa::
OK, no more stalling. I'm off to start my journal. (Thank you thank you thank you!)
