New job has started..
So here I am.
I promise to myself to write something about my new job. So this entry is about it. Sorry if this entry look mess xDDD
I started work in BAUER (Boredpiles Foundation Specialist) since March 18th 2013 as QS Engineer. I have 3 months probation period. First week, I stay in the Head Office, learn anything related to the site project, theoretically. And the second week, they transferred me to site project. My first project is PIH (Pondok Indah Hotel) in Jakarta. I'm a bit glad I'm still in Java island for my first project.
On the site project, there's only maximum one female. And yes, I'm the only female here. All engineers and workers are male. So I've been surrounded by those guys. It's not that I don't like it, I actually enjoyed it. Naturally I feel more comfortable working with guys. But of course since this is a construction area, I must be careful too. We've never know what people think or feel about my existence. But overall, I like working with my current team.
My team consist of:
1 Superintendent
2 Project Managers
2 Site Engineers
1 QS Engineer
2 Safety Officers
2 Site Clerks
2 Store Keepers
1 Purchasing
1 Office Boy
2 BG14 Operators
2 BG30 Operators
2 Polymer Operators
2 Excavator Operators
2 Crane Operators
2 Mechanics
2 Electricians
4 Welders
30 Riggers
4 Drivers
There are 2 shift, day shift and night shift because we're working 24 hours and 27 days. Each shift only have 1 person for 1 position, except for QS Engineer, Purchasing, and OB, they only have day shift.
For example for day shift there are 1 Project Manager (PM1), 1 Site Engineer (SE1), 1 QS Engineer, 1 Superintendent, 1 Store Keeper (SK1), 1 Site Clerk (SC1), 1 Safety Officer (SO1). And for night shift there are 1 Project Manager (PM2), 1 Site Engineer (SE2), 1 Store Keeper (SK2), 1 Site Clerk (SC2), 1 Safety Officer (SO2). They change shift every 2 weeks, so day shift team will change to night shift at the 3rd week. As for now, team day shift is PM1 and SE1. But I can meet the team (both day and night team) in the morning and or in the night when it comes to handover shift. It's around 7-9 AM and 7-9 PM.
We have temporary office in the site project, and that's where I worked. There's 3 containers (rooms), 1 for clerk, purchasing and safety officers, 1 for engineers, and 1 for store keepers. I spend my most time in the engineers room, but I go to the site too when it's needed.
In the engineers room there are 3 table, each table is for 1 position.
