This Union Pacific Steam Engine came into Enid last weekend and my dad and I decided to go and see it leave for Texas. It was a beautiful machine that made some of the most fearful noises. Deep low grumbling, eerie whirring and whining and a loud clanks. All deafening. But once it started moving it was such an awesome sight. It's amazing that something that large can move under it's own weight. The solid single cast iron (or steel or whatever) drive wheels were about six feed in diameter. So huge.
