Renaissance Faire in NorCal

I just took a look at the web page for the NorCal Renaissance Faire to find out the dates for this year. While I was pleased to see it’s planned for the full six weekends, I was amazed to see single-day admission is now $25.00 before any discount. I’ll probably go regardless, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a huge part of why its attendance has declined since it lost its Blackpoint Forest location.

When the Living History Center managed it, I remember it used to offer group discounts to corporations for their employees. Does the current organization do this? A couple of years ago, one of the local See’s shops was giving a pair of tickets to the Dickens Fair to any customer who purchased $50 or more of its merchandise.

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to going to the 142nd Annual Scottish Highland Games at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Saturday. They have some historical reenactment there as well, except it's with the not-so-bright Mary, Queen of Scots. My main goal is to do some Christmas shopping, though. I wouldn't mind watching the sheep dog trials too.
