I didn't hate it as much as I thought I might.
I still don't understand why they have to tinker with the format of the show all the time. It works the way it does and they shouldn't alter it all the time. Sometimes the alterations do work (I applauded the addition of the rule that no one person can do more than six roadblocks), but this... this family edition seemed to gimicky to me. And I worried that in order to compensate for some teams having honest to goodness kidnicks with them, that the tasks would be easier overall. I don't want
That being said though, there were a few teams I liked right off the bat, even one containing dreaded children! I liked the father/sons-in-law team. They had an easy comeraderie to them, and were definitely not taking themselves too seriously. I liked the father and three daughters team. They remind me of slightly older versions of my uncle and my three cousins. And yeah, I liked the two parents with the young boy and girl team. The kids singing 'they'll be coming 'round the mountain' as their parents pulled and pushed that damn buggy struck me as really funny for some reason.
And I felt bad for the team that got eliminated, I woulda prefered that horrible parents/teenaged boys family to be eliminated.
So far, so good, but of course, we'll see how this goes after a few weeks of this and the children (and adults) get progressively whiney.
But I still maintain that TAR needs to stop with the stunts, leave the show well enough alone, its good the way it is.
