For a very long time, I railed against reality shows as being completely stupid and a blight on the already much blighted face of television. I still think the majority of them are, but I admit, I'm hooked on the Amazing Race and have been for a few seasons now. I'd love to go on it, but they only accept American citizens as contestants, which bites because I think me and my partner of choice (my bro) would seriously kick ass and be really entertaining as well. I'm so modest.
Anyway, that was just rambling set-up for the real point of this post. I just have to say, Joyce is my new hero. Even for a million bucks, I'm not sure if I could do what she did in last night's episode. More than ever now, I hope she and her husband win this season.
((Addendum: I've suddenly realized I have this habit about railing against things and then ending up liking some aspect of them. I railed against reality shows and now, a reality show is one of only two shows I watch anymore. I railed against Buffy and ended up liking it, and then loving the spin-off Angel. Hmm, ok, those are really the only two instances I can think of, but maybe I should be more careful about opening my big, opinionated mouth sometimes... Nah.))
