Head and neck=boo

I loathe the trigeminal nerve and all of its branches. Facial nerve, you are running a close second, but trigeminal...you win!

I'm really not a dork, but this is my life.

Anything new...hmm. Oh, I got a haircut today which is pretty exciting considering I haven't had one since the wedding. I also got my brows waxed...hurt like hell, but I look female again:) My gay hairdresser cut off quite a bit of hair. Pretty sure it won't fit in a pony tail...haha! It's cute though. He is so gay, but I love him. I walked in, and no lie, he was knitting. So funny.

What else...oh, I finally got one exam grade back. I got a 93% in Histology:) I honored...sweet. Now I have to wait and see about gross anatomy and HPD (Human Prenatal Development). Really, really hope we get the grades tomorrow!

I've got 7 hours of 'lecture' tomorrow. Granted, two of them are discussions of the case study that we had to do. 3 hours on the neck, 1 on pharyngeal arches, and 1 in genetics. Gotta love Fridays.

Oh, I got together with some classmates to work on this case study-it's called DxR. Basically, we are assigned a "patient" and we have to go thru all the steps of a typical doctor visit: history, exams, labs, etc. It becomes quite comical considering we don't know what the hell we're doing. They play heart sounds like you're supposed to actually know what a murmur sounds like and what kind, yeah right. Well, today our case was on Mr. Eric Porter who presented with fatigue. Now, we have basically been told from the beginning...look for the horse, not the zebra (i.e. look for the common source/cause of the problem...not the rarest). So, we go about our little case study, pretending like we know what we're doing. Run blood tests thinking anemia...yeah, so long story short...Mr. Porter has the beginnings of leukemia. We ended up having to do a bone marrow biopsy, etc, etc. So much for the horse.
