They did try awfully hard to capture the feel and energy of the source materials and it can be said that most of the differences in backstory are within the range of variation. It does make me want to review the original material, and since I do have most of it around here somewhere I shall do so. Still it seemed like the nature of the adaptation was working against them. This is most evident in the scenes that were carefully recreated as to be near identical to one of the original stories. And in fact a bit of one was in the trailer so even then the failure was apparent to the audience. Of course by then they were in post-production and could not change the outcome.
After an afternoon passed in somber work (though done with some cheer) and an enormous meal after that nearly through us both into hibernation I suppose it is no surprise that I dozed off on the couch watching a movie. And with the weight of protein and the subject matter of the telly and then this movie weird dreams are to be expected. Still I was quite surprised when I kicked, in my sleep, and knocked a cup across the living room, breaking it. And giving up the couch after that for the bed I continued to have very strange dreams that sourced each other in complex ways. For the additional three or four hours in bed, I can only blame the sleep rays emitted by the cats, as hypothesized by leading researchers.
How has your Sunday been, or Saturday night?
