to another smartass on the internet to get me in the writing mood. I do not know him personally, but he does write a few of the most awesome blog posts in history. I am talking about a person called Maddox and this is the link to his site: http://maddox.xmission.com. In fact, he's so famous you can google him and read his biography on wikipedia.
Usually when I get excited about something, I'll log into Windows Live Messenger and put it in my PM... just to let it out. It's only when I have too many things to say about a topic/obsession and it can't all fit into my PM that I start to blog. In this case it was Maddox's site which egged me click 'post' in my LJ account. I finally decided to read it, even though I never had the motivation to do so... for lack of something better to do. (My internet was screwing up, and Sugar Sugar Rune JUST wouldn't load properly)
Anyway Maddox got me to love him from the 5th post starting from the top: One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't... which according to him, was shutting the fuck up. I burst into fits of laughter at that... because oh my god, it was so completely...true. I have a classmate who owns a Mac, and he just has to bring it to school almost EVERY SINGLE DAY... and then take it out during lunch break to work on something like that econs essay that's due in two weeks. And I'm sure it was absolutely necessary and essential to use it for the whole of like ten minutes for the whole table to see. He also can't shut up. Ask him about a gadget he has, and he'll never stop talking. This is very annoying, especially when you happened to ask only out of politeness and are not particularly interested in the answer.
It seems that quite a few of Maddox's entries apply to my classmate. Why, oh why is this? LOL. Said classmate also owns an iPhone. See Maddox's entry on: The iPhone is a piece of shit, and so is your face. And he is a walking adverstisement for apple. Now I am against apple because I am against iPods, because I support Creative, and hence I agree with Maddox. I feel like throwing Maddox's post on the iPhone in his face for the heck of it...
Having said all that, I don't really have anything against the classmate in particular. In fact I consider him a friend. Not a very close one, but a friend nonetheless. I simply found it ironic that many of the entries Maddox wrote about reminded me of him. Which immediately gave me the feeling that, if Maddox ever met my friend in real life, he would hate him completely.
It seems rather hilarious at this point in time.
The 'How to spot a pedophile' post also got me thinking. You know, in the entire history of the world, I don't think pedophiles ever got as much attention as they do right now. I've been wondering about it for sometime, but I don't know what's the big deal about pedophiles. Sureee, they're out to rape little children who are too cute for their own good and are mostly big, fat, hairy and fugly, but what they do is not so much different from statutory rape or cold-blooded murder. In fact all of the above're plain old CRIMES. So why do people think pedophiles are very much worse than the average murderer? Hmm?
Maybe it's the disturbing image that comes to mind when the word pedophile is brought up - ugly old men tricking little kids into having sex with them, lost innocence, and young minds that can't know any better. The sympathy it generates is overwhelming... because taking advantage of the epitome of purity is evil in its worst form.
To be honest I think knowing better would make a rape ten times worse.
Sigh. I personally think Michael Jackson was the one who raised public awareness on the existence of pedophiles. (Did I mention I think he's really cool? For some reason, I like that guy. This is in spite of all he's done and how much he's hated. My friends don't understand me at all.) And... I have a confession to make. I do not think that sex between an adult and a child is wrong. In fact, I can totally understand the attraction. And no, I am quite certain I'm not a pedophile in the making. Because. I don't have the guts. and also because. I'm too YOUNG to be one. LOL. OKAY KIDDING!
But seriously. I think it's only the really ugly, disgusting guys, those slobs posing as humans... you know the kind? that can't get away with being pedophiles. I just know there are hot and sexy individuals out there who have a children complex and can get away with seducing them. It's my intuition. Har har. Well maybe my obsession with Loveless and Anne Rice is causing this because, after all, how can I hate pedophiles when Soubi almost falls under the category of one? AND seeing how much Ritsuka loves him back in Loveless, even though Soubi is obviously taking advantage of the fact that he is young, lost and alone in a world that is much to cruel for him? And THEN it is also true that Soubi actually LOVES Ritsuka, not just for his body, and they look really good together... and there is nothing much to discuss beyond that. Love is love, regardless of age, rhyme or reason. Fyi, Soubi is 26, and Ritsuka is 12. And I have never seen a smexier couple.
Then there is the wonderful Armand and Marius in The Vampire Armand. This couple is so *HOLY SHIT* arousing, erotic, SMEXXY, etc etc... their being together just cannot be considered a crime. GAH. I know that Anne Rice got lots of shit reviews for this book, mainly because readers were disturbed by her portrayal of Marius (quote "dirty, perverted old man") but being the crazy person I am, can't help supporting this couple with all my heart and soul. In fact, in the entire series of the Vampire Chronicles, THIS is my favourite couple, and Armand is my favourite vampire, other than Lestat. This is saying a lot since I think the whole series is basically a mass orgy of... tremendous proportions. And to think, the age difference in this one is worse. Marius is a... 2000 year old (if I'm not wrong) vampire in the body of a 40 year old man, and Armand was a human boy aged 6-17 in the years they were together. Haha, do the math.
Of course, both of them are incidentally, fucking gorgeous.
Hmm okay, so I realize the above two examples are all works of fiction, and each of the characters in question was brought together under impossible conditions that would probably not happen in real life... but what I am trying to say is not all pedophiles are bad and force sex on little kids.
Also, and that I think Jared and Simon in the Spiderwick Chronicles would be an excellent target for pedophiles. In real life, the twins are played by one actor by the name of ... err i forgot, but just google Spiderwick and you'll find out. The point being he is just, I reiterate, too cute for his own good. And intelligent. And when he cries, the look he gets on his face is so ____ you just wanna squish him and then take him home and... uh... I disgust myself. Forgive me for pointing out that, if Loveless EVER were made into a live action film in english, the actor above would make a very good candidate.
