Bribed!!!
Some days ago I opted to work home. The next day when I came back to my office, I had a note written on my table from a consultant from a IT company working at my office.
In the note this guy had written "I tried to catch you at the table but you were not there, here's a little christams gratitude from our company" when I looked down on my chair there was a Package on it. A Package with 4 good bottles of wine and a box of handmade chocolate.
This guy has 2 employees thats also consultants at our company as IT Project managers. Both of those IT Project managers works under me developing systemes that I am business project manager at, and one of the projects got much bigger because I did some work to change a minimal small IT project to a far bigger portal system. With other words somehow I managed to give their mother company some extra million danish kroners. They choose to show me their gratitude with giving me this nice gift.
The next day I got a telephone call from one of the bosses from another IT system developing company asking me to come down in the reception hall to pick up a small gift from his company. When came down He had a huuuuge buckett to me filled with candies.
This company gave me this buckett because, I manage another huge IT project were my company are customer for him.
Until now I have only got Christmascards from work related partners. That is because I always have worked in big projects as the coordinator or projectassistant, so when I changed company this summer, it was for the chance to manage my own projects. So when I look at those 2 nice presents I feel that reached my goal in becoming projectmanager for my own projects.
Oh I forgot! Another interesting note..... I work in a public transportation company owned by the government, so I am actually not allowed to get these presents. Because thats bribe, but hey so what I get presents from other companies just because I am doing my job!!!!!! ;0)
